Business, Economics, and Taxes 2: That's Why We Fight to Take the Means Back

Dump won't even pretend to defend Europe against Russia.
"But Putin's a killer."

"There are a lot of killers. You think our country’s so innocent?"

I knew right then and there where his sympathies were. A real POTUS would never have made that comparison on TV to the American public.

He hates democracy, he hates anyone less wealthy than he is, and he hates that we can vote. Unless it's an election he can rig, of course, just like the Russian handler he admires so much.

He admires Xi. What more does one need to know? Fuck, he likes L'il Kim and thinks it's terrific that people obey him.
From 2018, lest we forget. On the subject of KJU:
“He’s the head of a country. And I mean, he is the strong head,” Trump said in June 2018.

”Don’t let anyone think anything different. He speaks, and his people sit up at attention. I want my people to do the same,” Trump said.
🖕

So the executive order Trump signed allowing motorists to use agricultural red dyed diesel as highway fuel?

Yeah, Ford explicitly states in their owners manual that doing so voids the warranty.

Not because it will damage the engine, it won't as the only difference is the dye, but because they wrote it that way.

In Minnesota, it has been determined that using red dyed diesel is still illegal, Trump's executive order does not supercede State Law. There is discussion on whether Walz can even wave State Law for harvest season, or if he would have to call a special session and get the Legislature to wave it. Like, you know, following the Constitution and having the Legislative Branch deal with laws.

I would not be sure that ag diesel isn’t bad for modern cars- how much sulfur is in ag diesel? For any modern diesel vehicle, the sulfur requirement are really low, like under 30ppm or something like that. It will do a number on a dpf and the catalyst system.

That's a great business model. People will have to replace or have major repairs to their vehicles. Fits this administrations narrative to a T.

AG diesel / red dye diesel is actually the exact same thing. Only difference is the dye added at the refiner to specify if it gets taxed or not.

And now you're going to have long haul truck drivers using cherry flavored diesel during the heart of harvest season when agriculture equipment needs it most.

But the supply problem isn't diesel/red dye diesel. It's the refining of it prior to adding/not adding dye. There still isn't enough being produced. As it was explained to me via TikTok, a barrel of oil will be refined into multiple things. Generally, they'll refine in related bands: and gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel happen to be in the same/neighboring band of refinement.

Increase diesel output, and you reduce gasoline and jet fuel.

We've had refinery problems for decades. The industry does that on purpose to keep the cost and profits higher.

"California's oil refinery closures result from a combination of aging, century-old facilities, shrinking in-state fuel demand, depleted local crude fields, and strict environmental regulations"

The right says the only reason is the last one. The fact is they haven't modernized, or built a new state of the art "cleaner" facility, ever. They just keep skimming profit off the top. This is why we need Government, but we no longer HAVE government in the United States. Government in the US "died" in 1980 when we elected the first Satan. We are on our third Satan now. The handcart is at the gates of hell as we post in 2026.

The Aristocrats! Erm, Capitalism!

The key to that is refineries, like everything in life, cost money to maintain. Corporations don't really want to invest in maintenance unless there is (almost immediate) profit to be made from it.

The other issue is US oil companies have no reason to serve the US population other than for profit. We don't have a national oil producer-refiner-distributor to regulate costs. Unlike Saudi Arabia (Aramco), Iran (NIOC), Brazil (Petrobras), Mexico (Pemex), Kuwait (KPC), Venezuela (PDVSA), Norway (Equinor), Malaysia (Petronas), Qatar (QatarEnergy), and others.

And even if we did, Republicans would have sold it off to a private corporation decades ago. See: British Petrolium.

Correct. We can't nationalize the energy sector - where's the competition?! That's COMMUNISM!

Maybe that's the trick. Brand these social "entitlements" like universal health care or national minimum wage increases as Republican flavored to gain bipartisan support. Because branding a minimum wage increase as Trump Wage or something like that would be amazing when it gets stuck 20 years from now never increasing like the current $7.25 is stuck. Listening to what's left of the Republican Party cling to never increasing Trump Wages, and tarnishing his name, would be delicious.

It reminds me of the joke: The reason men make more is because they choose higher paying jobs like lawyer, doctor, or engineer. Women choose lower paying jobs like female lawyer, female doctor, or female engineer.

The US is also a country where the government royalties are almost nothing. Instead, we give them tax breaks for drilling costs. Yet the companies all make a LOT of money drilling in countries where they pay a lot in royalties. Imagine all the tax breaks normal people could get had companies paid royalties. Like Norway.

Less than 30, I think its 15. All Distillates in Maine are ultra low sulfur so it doesn't matter, not sure about other places. AT least some older diesels have a optical eye and if it can see thru the product diesel isn't going to run. Again I doubt its all systems that have that.
