Business, Economics, and Taxes 2: That's Why We Fight to Take the Means Back

At top of the hour, I had to call into a town hall meeting. Before the meeting began, they were playing some generic, soft jazz music. It would’ve been more fun and dramatic had they been playing the intro music for Jeopardy.

"Good evening Sir, my name is Steve. I come from a rough area. I used to be addicted to crack but now I am off it and trying to stay clean. That is why I am selling magazine subscriptions."

Received this in my DMs today.

Hi Fade, I hope you are doing well! I’m currently assisting a client in their search for a ServiceNow Architect / Senior Implementor focused on Asset Management and SAM Pro. The team is looking for someone who can both architect and hands-on implement, ensuring SAM and related modules are implemented correctly without disrupting existing ServiceNow functionality. The role is a 6–12 month contract and requires 4 days per week onsite in Lafayette, IN (remote one day per week) so it would require relocation for candidates who are not local.. If this aligns with your ServiceNow experience and availability, I’d love to connect and share more details. Thanks!

This is one of those niche senior roles in my ecosystem where recruiters are just throwing darts, hoping to catch that one unicorn who's ready to move to Boilermaker Country for a 1099 opp with no benefits. The best software asset SMEs are masochists who eat/sleep/breathe the topic and are already locked up in fully remote roles at implementation partner firms, getting paid bank. The client is probably Purdue or some offshoot of theirs, and doesn't want to pay consulting rates for a traditional implementation (or had a bad experience with a previous partner).
