Re: Business, Economic, and Tax Policy 9: No, No, No, We Compost The Rich

Several European markets officially entered bear market territory (-20%). USA markets could hit it today if things keep up (-12% thru last week, -7% today).

If major US events start getting canceled (March madness, The Masters, NBA/NHL playoffs, Opening Day, Boston marathon), hold on to your butts because this could make the Great Recession seem like nothing.

Re: Business, Economic, and Tax Policy 9: No, No, No, We Compost The Rich

I am really thankful right now I have a lot of work queued up at my job.

Re: Business, Economic, and Tax Policy 9: No, No, No, We Compost The Rich

Trades halted for 15 minutes because of the automatic stops put in slow a crash.

****. I need to sell to help pay for the wedding but now I have no idea if I should float a personal loan or sell...

You should have sold a while ago if that was the intent. I would not sell anything right now.

Best thing I saw this morning on Twitter regarding the stock sell off was that "your 401k is just like your face, don't touch it!!"

*edit* Also, I feel like I bumped up my contribution rate at a good time last week. Thanks all who assuaged me and my 401k questions a few weeks ago. :)

Yeah, shoulda woulda coulda. :(

Live and learn. I knew I should have but didn't think it was going to be this bad... Even though in the back of my head i kinda knew...

Bull market is at 11 years to the day today, will it stop there?

Its a good thing we have sane and competent leadership in this country instead of impotent brainless old men tweeting while sitting on the can at 4 AM.

Oh, wait....

I'm quite literally too old for this sh-t. I went heavy bonds after Dump's first year. I have a feeling the day has arrived when that pays off.

The oil war and ensuing global depression isn't going to help my international equities any though. Oh well. It's only money and I'm past draft age.

Were I in my 20s I would be... concerned... about the next few decades.

And very, very angry.

This week has been just a perfect storm of ****bags through a snowblower.

Coronavirus pandemic
Generational oil wars
Historically cratering bond yields (30-year sub 1%?!? That's ****ed man...)

I don't like it.

THe last hour of trading today is going to be something else...

Re: Business, Economic, and Tax Policy 9: No, No, No, We Compost The Rich

Is it? We've had a couple indices drop 20% a couple times since then.

Have we? I don't think the Dow or S&P have gone down a full 20%, though they have had some dips. Everything I google says it's been the Obama Bull Market since 2009.

Re: Business, Economic, and Tax Policy 9: No, No, No, We Compost The Rich

Looks like 2011 was for S&P but not for Dow. And headlines still like to look at Dow over S&P (which is kinda dumb). Others came close but not the full 20%.

Gotcha. I see where you're coming from and agree with your original categorization then.
