BU @ RPI, Saturday 12/13

Re: BU @ RPI, Saturday 12/13

Missed the first period but it sounds like it was an impressive one for RPI.

Re: BU @ RPI, Saturday 12/13

BU survives the first with a little help from a foot in the crease, now watch them get 3 or 4 goals.

Seems like the story of our year. Play well and have nothing to show for it. Play badly and get burned. And the injuries keep on coming. Perhaps sadly Nanne was damaged goods after all, two shoulder operations is unchartered territory.

Some exciting play and perhaps 4 goals prevented by great goaltending. The good-we did not give up the first goal in the first period. The bad, we always seem to take the first penalty. But the officials are calling an odd game allowing a lot of things that often get called. The worst-losing Nanne is huge in this game. BU is not only big and physical, but they seem to be a step faster to most pucks. Having that first goal taken away looms large right now. We have made some very high risk cross ice passes and drop passes and been very fortunate to get away with them. This one does look like it has the potential to be very physical.

And a toe save against Miller that just would have been a sure goal. Not sure of the shot count but we took quite a few and Scotty was there for the two most difficult he had to face.

Shots are 18-11 but 11 of our shots are from defensemen

BU looked pretty lethargic when they let RPI walk in for a short-handed chance on that power play.

I expect their coach is going to have a few things to say to them in the locker room.

Re: BU @ RPI, Saturday 12/13

Although its not sometimes called, we could have gotten a called for goaltender interference on the non-goal. So it could have been worse.

I never put anything past the officials. They could have also allowed the goal saying Luke was on his way out of the crease and the goalie had enough time to recover. But after the first 0-0 against this quality team is very surprising to this fellow.
