BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

Mike McMahon reporting that Sacha Boisvert was late to a practice this week and it was not the first infraction. I would still be surprised if he plays tomorrow, but if that reporting is correct, that possibly opens the door for him to come back. That seems fairly minor unless there are other extenuating circumstances.
That is so situational weather it is minor or major. We would have to be in the locker room to know.

On "Gametime-gate": It is reasonable to comment on game start times and discuss how it may or may not impact attendance. We also can acknowledge that BU does not always make the final decision on game times.

In this most recent one - yeah, 30 min probably didn't have much impact on attendance, although for me it certainly finalized / confirmed the decision to not go based on what i anticipated potential traffic would be heading in from the north shore.

The 1:00 game time on Saturday is interesting. Unusual for college hockey (except for playoffs), but the Bruins play matinee games with some frequency, and they aren't a bad time to go- of course they are often juggling multiple tenants at the Garden.

I read further in the article in his substack and he wrote that there is "there is strong belief that he could return to the lineup Saturday." Still a pretty non-committal answer but that's where we are.

Also, more news from McMahon.....

BU is planning to opt in to the House settlement starting next season and that was always the plan.

BU will be able to offer revenue sharing and possibly has already offered it to future recruits. The flip side is that they will have a frozen roster of 26 players max at the beginning of the season. I believe there is some grandfathering clause the first couple of years that allowed a few teams (like BC) to have a mid-season roster add, but this will soon be a thing of the past. I wonder how they get around the whole Patriot League opting out?

BU has had a 26 man roster for the past 2 seasons- changed with an addition mid year
agree was always plan for next year-too many legal issues this year
with 11 recruits going to be interesting off season between going pro and portal

Hmm - is the Patriot league continuing to opt out as a conference?
My understanding was the Patriot league thing only applied to sports that the league sponsored and would not apply to other sports (such as Hockey).

On another note with this - not sure how i feel about it. Not sure i feel like I'd want any donations i make to go towards paying players.

Wednesday night was the smoothest/easiest drive in we had all season. 😎 - And it was quite easy leaving the garage. And I was home at a reasonable hour on a school night. Sign me up for more 6:30 starts! 😁

Agree but the discussion here was never about leaving the game and that was super easy because of the tiny crowd. I'm sure that traffic can be much worse than it was on Wednesday, but I think most late arrivers to any sporting event in Boston are bad planners.

I am a big fan of Eiserman's ability and do think he is a guy that has been going full out and cares. I realize he is a goal scorer not necessarily going to be a big points guy (assists) but he has a rare ability to score goals and snipe. He has had some huge goals in tournament play as well. I was just as perplexed about his mid season performance which could have been because of injury or just a mental slump. I think he has a chance to be a good pro. I looked up his career goal scoring stats in almost 2 full years versus others in the last 10 years with 2+ years. He holds up near the top of the list. Please feel free to check if I am missing someone. Danny O'Reagan -66 (4 yrs), Quinn Hutson -56 ( 3 years), Bobo Carpenter -56 ( 4 years) Ahti Oksanen -51 ( 4 years) , Cole Eiserman -43 ( 2 yrs). I would rate him as living up to the high expectations all said and done. Obviously a few one year players Keller (21), Eichel (26) and Celebrini (32) would have been up with the leaders if they stayed. Lane Hutson had 30 in 2 years .

I have no idea what the record is for goals in first two seasons is but John Cullen had 50 and Chris Drury 47 so Eiserman (43) isn't far behind.
