Brown visits RPI again, Saturday, March 5th

Re: Brown visits RPI again, Saturday, March 5th

Dartmouth over Colgate 1-0 and Clarkson over Princeton 1-0

SS: You do if they are are not at 100% but could be tomorrow. If we win tonight that would be wonderful. But if we do not and either of those two were not at 100% and then cannot go tomorrow, we may regret it. Both took some hard hits yesterday. i do not know if they can even play tomorrow, but certainly we have to go with whoever is best able to skate at close to 100%. of course i want us to end this tonight, but I can understand if SA did not want to risk both a loss tonight coupled with losing two players who just might be needed for tomorrow.

Edit: only an elimination game for Brown. Hopefully we do not have to face an elimination game for two more weeks

Never heard of that theory in hockey, ever. You have a chance to eliminate someone, you do so. Instead of having 24 hours to recuperate you have an entire week. Not the preferred method.

And, we're off to a bad start.

I must assume you did not listen to the interview with SA today. Both Kenny and Parker are sitting because of minor injuries
(not any sort of theory)

no, you're right, I didn't. I thought you were proposing to sit them with dings, not minor injuries. Apologies for the missed connection.

Kind of looking like everyone is a little dinged up. WTH?

we are on the same page, as is often the case. i am horribly aggressive and always feel when you have your foot on their throat you press down and keep it there. But in this case, I also felt that with the injuries SA was trying not to put all his eggs in tonight's basket.

Yes I know, and I was wondering if you were ill :D

You might be right, they are playing like there's an incentive to play tomorrow... :(

I am never quite satisfied that our coaches are able to get the best and most out of the roster we have. We now have a decade of these experiences. How does a team that wins 5 games all season give us this much trouble? I am not watching tonight but most nights i do find that we have certain defensive pairings that just do not work well together, especially against teams that are aggressive forecheckers and have some size. Brown has done this to us over the past few years very well.

Re: Brown visits RPI again, Saturday, March 5th

this feels like the last 9 years on the Appert regime. Unprepared and uninspired.

Could not be put any better. When a team consistently loses face offs, consistently cannot move the puck out of the zone quickly, has one of the worst power play percentages in the country, comes out at the beginning of periods as if they never left the locker room, you cannot avoid questioning the system.

edi: and this is one of the best years with 17 wins total. i think we have had 18 twice and 20 once since the Fridgen era.

Re: Brown visits RPI again, Saturday, March 5th

I had some hope through the season since the team did play differently from previous years, but tonight, same old crap - I hope things change.

I have not given up even on tonight. We can score and thankfully, Brown is not a top ten team. But every season we seem to be unchanged (even when we have an entirely new recruit class).
