Glad you did not mention the first period. We were out shot, out muscled, out played, territorially challenged. The only part of the first period we won was on the scoreboard. However, you are completely right about the second period. We played extremely well. But not on the scoreboard. Tonight is rather simple. We have to come out and blow them out of the building in the first 20 minutes and continue for most of the next 20 minutes. We cannot allow them to hang around. Brown is nowhere as bad as their record seems to indicate. They are bigger and stronger and they will fight for every last chance. Take them out early or this becomes a dogfight and although we have the talent, they are the bigger dog with one really superb front line. We have played these kinds of teams many times in the past and we were not able to finish them off.The team really played great in the last two periods last night and showed that they were the better team. Now lets keep that going and close this out tonight.
I will be making the trip up to HFH to watch it in person.
Lets go red!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the first hand report. Let's not allow the officials to determine the result tonight. Although we are a decent short handed team, Brown is by far the better power play team. Although we have to stay aggressive, we cannot be stupid. If you want to retaliate, wait until the third period buzzer and then throw that punch. We have to learn a lesson from the Princeton game last night. They led CCT 2-0 with half the third period gone. Then took a 5 minute major and gave up a goal and then with less than 30 seconds left took a too many men on the ice penalty and gave up an EAG while also shorthanded 6 on 4. Not being present at the game, i cannot call it home cooking but it sure had that flavor to the sequence.I wouldn't say that they played great in the third period. They did do some good things, like finally scoring on the power play, killed a crucial penalty in the final few minutes, and were able to keep Brown from a serious scoring chance when they pulled their goalie. But let's hope that they play better then the 30 minutes that they showed last night.
For those posters who did not watch last nights game, the wraparound play was not a goal. It was down at my end of the ice and I never saw the puck actually cross the goal line. Good non-call by the refs.
Hope to see Fr Joe and EHF at the game tonight! LGR!!

Is anyone hearing anything on WRPI?
Is anyone hearing anything on WRPI?
Like Grant a lot and he is a bit of a big horse. But Reno is not a little guy to replace. Taking Kenny G out is removing some real effective size up front. Perhaps SA is thinking about resting them just in case we need a Sunday game? Brown is big and played big yesterday. if we can end this tonight, we have to do it. But if we can't, then perhaps resting Parker for tomorrow is a smart thought.I like the idea of shaking up the lineup, not a fan of the result. LGR!
