Brown @ RPI - Saturday, March 16th

Re: Brown @ RPI - Saturday, March 16th

Serves you right for that major for diving.
From what i saw on the replay-it may not have even been an elbow-more like a shoulder or upper body hit. And it was a dive and should have gotten at least an unsportsman like penalty. However, I do not think that brown should have gotten a major for kneeing either. It was not intentional, it was unavoidable, and it wasn't knee on knee from what i could see. I also think we could have gotten a major on the monster crush Luke put on a guy against the boards. It was not from behind, it was not a charge-but it was a humoungus hard crunch and sometimes these refs call apenalty by the sound and the fury instead of what really happened. I just hope we do not get a repeat of these calls tonight.

I was going to toss in my 2cents on these 3 things (4 counting not having a repeat) but Doc....you wrote it exactly as I saw it.

It was a makeup call, plain and simple. Sure, you guys got screwed, but forwards are replaceable. We lost our top defenseman, and captain, for the game.

Here's hoping for none of that BS tonight.

And he took out our biggest offensive threat and previously an All American defenseman for the last period of the game. We could go on with all of this-the game is history-and was poorly controlled by the officials simply stated.

Trust me-I had to wait until late last night to view the films. When we got home from the hockey dinner I was seeing pink elephants. We will need to be a composed but nasty team tonight that communicates and makes few if any mistakes. Brown is just the team that could upset anyone in this league at any time. I wold never place a bet against them with their style of play, scoring offense from one big line, and very secure goaltending.

Doc - absolutely agree with both you and Turk. He reflect this game get out of hand and was very chippy. I don't necessarily mind that, but then you can be making calls like the one on Bubela. Absolutely agree also that the call on Brown was just bad. There were several other times that we could have got tagged for things, and the same culd be said for Brown. I also think that Luke could have gotten called for more, only because it looked like he went after the kid a bit....but without his size I don't think anything gets called. I also don't think that Greg Burgdorfer's hit behind the net at the end of the game was intentional, but certainly unfortunate. After he scored, there was a bit of chatting between him and some Brown player at the resulting face off, so. Wasn't surprising that they wee going at each other game end. We need to be disciplined tonight and just focus on what we need to do and be unaffected by them. They are a really good team and really pressure you not mistakes, and are very fast.
