What happened to Robertson?
Let's just hope we don't hit a cold streak, like PC has. They're certainly more talented than they're playing right now, though perhaps they were always overrated as a top five team.
Robertson is a huge loss tonight against a Clarkson team that:
A. Is tough and physical, and will jump at the opportunity to push us around without our big, hard-hitting D-man who often keeps other teams' enforcers in check. Hathaway, Hourihan, Prescott, Middleton, and Pryzbek will have to make sure CU doesn't take liberties with our skill players.
B. We have bad blood with, in part due to the physical nature of both teams. It boiled over in the playoffs last year and picked right up where it left off in Providence earlier this year. For whatever reason, Brown-Clarkson (and this is dating back a couple decades now) have always had a bone to pick with each other on the ice. The bands seem to be good friends, however.
Wondering what the defensive pairings will look like.
Pfeil-Goldberg
Wahl-De Concylis
Wood-Quick
The first two were paired together last night, and Wood was with Robo. But maybe Whittet will want to keep the freshman with an experienced guy, like Wahl?
Thanks for the info. Gonna keep my eye on Brown this 2nd half because I think you have the goods to do some damage the rest of the way.Things got scrappy at the end of the St. Lawrence game, and he was issued DQ for a headbutt with 20 seconds left (really? You couldn't just keep your cool for TWENTY MORE SECONDS??!). The camera didn't catch it, but the refs did. I did some serious griping over on the ECAC Friday score update thread about the way the refs handled the end of the game last night, if you're interested.
Also, nice signature. I thought AI was pretty spot on with that.![]()

That was a Hall of Fame post by AI. Loved it!![]()
Quick is a solid D-guy who just had difficulty breaking in to regular play because of how good those 6 are playing. Yes, he is not up to DR but I think putting him with Wood, who is playing very well, is a good option which then does not break up the chemistry of the other two lines. Speaking of D, goalie for tonight? Marco played well in the early season loss to Clarkson, but this is a good game for Steele to play IMO.
Kdiff - keys to a brown win? Quick - no pun intended - start and no dumb penalties?
I turned off the audio right after the game ended. I guess I should have continued to listen.
Bruno just mentioned to me the penalties at 20:00. Lamacchia 5 minutes for fighting and 10 minutes disqualification; and one Clarkson gets the same penalties and another for hitting from behind.;.
Sounds like the same stuff that occurred last year in the playoffs and in the first game. Anyone see it?
Maybe VICB can add some insight.
The overall game I thought was 2 evenly matched teams going at it playing good solid hockey. Your line of Lappin-Lorito and Naclerio is just (as they say on Sportscenter) stupid good. I can see why many people say they are one of the best if not the best line in college hockey. I certainly would not want to be facing Brown in the playoffs.
Anyone want to talk about last nights win over the defending champs???

Ya, bench Robo. That's an idea. Sorry, but if you want all the good that he gives you, then you have to live with the penalties.
In the last 2 games he's played, he has 2 goals and 2 assists, plus-4 and 7 shots on goal.
He is what he is: A horse. Penalties or no penalties.
