Brown Hockey 2011-2012 - The Future Is Now

Re: Brown Hockey 2011-2012 - The Future Is Now

Not sure if any of you keep track of your recruits, but Kevin Roy, who I believe is coming to Brown next year is absolutely ripping it up in the USHL this year, as he leads the league by a wide margin with a 52-48-100 (+41) scoring line in 58 games. He's only 18 as well so it isn't like he's an overage 20 year old, which bodes well for his success at the college level.

Hopefully a Johnny Gaudreau!!

Congrats to Bobby! With Jordan Pietrus 2 years ago the award winner, Brown's program is truly honored.

Well-deserved award. Bobby is a terrific kid.

As we know, the Derek Hines Award is one of the major national honors in college hockey. It honors the memory of an outstanding young man, who gave his life serving his country. I had the privilege of meeting the Hines family two years ago. It was obvious where Derek's values originated.

Kevin Roy was #78 in the Final Central Scouting rankings, which is pretty impressive for a guy that's only 5'8.5" and 160 lbs.

Any chance Jerry York has a brother who wants to coach this team? F, I'd take Dick York at this point if he could win

Hopefully Roy won't "pull a Johnny-Gaudreau." Gaudreau was committed to Northeastern, but ended up at Boston College...

Well.......Gaudreau only passed on Northeastern after the coach (Cronin) left to go to the pros. I'd say Brendan is solid - so at least that reason will be eliminated.

I can't believe that I find myself in complete agreement with Brunofan! :-)

My personal impression -- stress on personal -- is that the Roy family is committed to having their two sons, Kevin and Derick, attend Brown together and play for Coach Whittet. Let's hope that I'm reading this correctly.

Time for "Brown Hockey 2012-2013"? We will be ending with some positive comments.

Bruno has suggested "Brown Hockey 2012-2013:Climbing The ECAC Ladder". I think that's a great thread name.

Hopefully your personal impression is spot on, Euler!

Mike, that sounds like a good thread title to me. I was recently thinking we were due for a new one, as well.

"Brown Hockey: 2013's version of Union"

Dare to dream.
