Brown at 6 UNH, Tuesday 11/21

Re: Brown at 6 UNH, Tuesday 11/21

SOG: UNH 41, Brown 27. FWIW.

But many of Brown's were great bids. DiGi should be giving his defensive 'support' a productive earful behind closed doors.

Re: Brown at 6 UNH, Tuesday 11/21

I understand the "on-paper" disappointment, but you can't pay attention to the PWR/KRACH when Brown has only played six games, and just swept the Colgate/Cornell road weekend (for the first time in 16 years, no less). The game's over and I'm not trying to puff the ECAC's chest... but I would like to suggest that you wait a few weeks, and see if Brown's really as pedestrian as you thought it was before the puck dropped.

Fair enough. Brown is a much improved team this year and has been playing well. But UNH has played and beaten or tied Miami, Michigan, BC and BU this year. You'll forgive us UNH fans if we felt this should have been in the W column.

First time in 18 years, you mean. Don't undermine the significance! ;) Even if 'Gate and Cornell are having down years.

Fantastic result for us! I don't care if we blew a two-goal lead; we blew it to the 6th-ranked team in the nation on the road. Coach Whittet will probably rip them to shreds for giving up the lead late, but I'm perfectly satisfied with the result, having not seen the game. I'm very excited about the BU game this weekend now, and will be attending. Cheers to the UNH fans who didn't seem to assume that Brown was an automatic "W," as we have been in past years.

Not quite going there... still. UNH has played more games and are at home... on the big sheet (100'x200'). UNH should have been better. UNH has beaten Miami (OH) at Miami, BC, BU, and Cornell (at Lynah... I'll throw that in because you included it for Brown) just to name a few of the better wins. This UNH team IS one of the best UNH teams in a while.... most everyone on these boards will tell you that.

Perhaps you are right. I will do this... I will keep my eye on Brown and watch how they do. Hope they do well this year. It would be great to have them be a TUC... a tie vs a TUC is not that bad. Tie at home vs a non-conf non-TUC, it does not look so good.

Now that the video is off, just listening to the radio guys. They are praising Brown's play and cautioning against underestimating them.

Well.. by the tone in your post, you obviously weren't expecting much here, either, or you would be upset with blowing a two goal lead late. Hell, you're ecstatic at the result! That leads me to believe you were thinking L long before your boys got off the bus in Durham today.

A thrilling comeback tie. Just one more thing to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving all.

Oh, absolutely. I wasn't expecting anything, knowing that I would probably be disappointed if I did. That said, I know this team can compete with almost anyone, having seen the way they play. I was hoping for a respectful showing today, and it sounds like we did more than that. So yes, I'm ecstatic with tying the 6th-ranked team in America at one of the more difficult venues around.

Cheers to you as well -- always fun having folks from the other school here on the thread.

CHC, Richard, Dean, ECAC, Kdiff.... have a great Thanksgiving and safe travels all if you are going to be on the move to get to your Thanksgiving destinations! Better luck next time, UNH, and, Brown fans, best of luck the rest of the season!

As you should... kudos to them and enjoy the result. Well earned!

Best of luck to you as well; UNH is always my second-favorite Hockey East team (after BU).

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, Chad (and it was also fun chatting about the football team, etc. earlier today and yesterday).

And a Happy Thanksgiving to C-H-C (love having someone from my own UNH-ECAC/Charlie Holt era on the board!), ECAC and Kdiff also...

Re: Brown at 6 UNH, Tuesday 11/21

Brown played well and finished, but UNH was AWFUL tonight - they did not skate, they had no urgency and they were sloppy (read not focused) from the opening face-off. Brown beat them to pucks all night long, out muscled them along the wall and deserved a better fate.

UNH was fortunate to tie thanks to flashes of superior skill and a great game by Digi. The worst effort I've seen from a UNH team in a long time...
