BouncyBall 2013/2014

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

For some reason, I get the Miami Herald online. The weeping and gnashing of teeth coming out of Miami was strong this morning.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

LBJ is opting out. Let the Soap Opera begin.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

He has to opt out even if he wants to stay doesn't he? He won't count against cap and can do another team friendly contract to make room for a player.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

ESPN has announced that if LBJ goes back to Cleveland they will relocate from Bristol and change their name to LBJMN (LeBron Johnny Manziel Network)

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

As of tomorrow (or maybe today, not sure if opting out automatically releases you), the Heat have literally one player on the roster.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

How do I know that I haven't paid any attentions to the Pistons: They announced that they're not picking up Chauncey Billups' contract. I didn't realize he was back in Detroit.

Even the people in Detroit have stopped paying attention to the Pistons.

Yeah, he came back on a one-year deal. His legs told everyone that he was done.

Stan Van Gundy's got his work cut out for him. If Gores isn't patient for the duration of that 5-year deal, this franchise is going to be a crater for a while.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

So LeBron is considering a return to Cleveland.

Like that's going to work. I can imagine the negotiation now: "Hey buddy, about that whole 'The Cavaliers will win a title before you do' thing, and after fans burned your jersey after the Decision... we didn't mean it. Come back to us."
You underestimate how much fans want to win. If Lebron goes back to Cleveland and wins there, his past transgressions will be largely forgotten by most of the fan base. Nothing against Cavs fans, who have suffered a lot, but it's more a general comment on how fans in general will look past the foibles of those who help their team win.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

Yeah, the Vikings fans took Favre in like he had played there for a decade completely forgetting the actual results of the past decade where he lined up on the other side of the line. We adopted the king of the cheese-eating deerfkers and pretended he was one of us.

Cavs fans will have no such qualms either.

It's like that for any long-suffering team. If Tom Brady suited up for the Bills or the Jets and got them a title, he'd have a statue made in his honor. Same if Albert Pujols went to the Cubs and did it for them. Fans don't care where you came from if you can shake them from an almost curse-like streak of misfortune. They'd be hailed as heroes.
