BouncyBall 2013/2014

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

Yeah I have no idea on that reference, but this has been a darn good game. Tim Duncan showing up big time. LeBron at -11 despite 13 points.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

The bigger story will be LeBron cramping up and needing to be carried off the court.

Oh, definitely. I'm wondering if his power forward body isn't made to match up with his shooting guard/small forward style. He's one of the most athletic, possibly the most athletic, human(s) on the planet right now yet he's succumbing to cramps more than the average bear.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

I've got someone on Facebook saying we're all morons for calling LeBron soft. I reminded him about Patrice Bergeron and Gregory Campbell, but he said he could give an 1/8 of a s--t about hockey. He then said the NHL sucks for next few posts. I know cramps hurt, but Campbell broke his farking leg.

and stayed out to kill a penalty for over a minute on one leg. Lebron is soft, and clearly not properly hydrating.

I don't like the B's, but I respect the hell out of him and Bergeron. I saw people trot the Peverley meme out, and that was sad.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

I don't want to pull the "hockey players play through injuries and are therefore tougher argument", but only because sometimes hockey players do it sometimes to the point of stupidity (it's one thing to try to survive the rest of your shift, but for those that head back out... how useful are they, really?).

For that matter, I don't even care if he got taken/took himself out of the game. Cramps suck.

What really gets me is the fact that he got literally carried off. He didn't limp off. He didn't have someone give him a shoulder to aid him off. He got carried off. It's not as bad as that time that he (or was it Kobe? Paul Pierce maybe? I don't remember) got wheeled off the court in a wheelchair after hurting his shoulder, but that's still pretty weak.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

I don't think you just fight through cramps. They make it pretty tough on motor functions, you know with the whole thing seizing up and all that.

Having played with a lot of injuries, some are different that others.

Contusions, pulls, strains and the like can be played through.

My fractured ankle? Not so much. Wasn't the pain, simply wouldn't support my weight.

My issues with sacroiliac? Depends on how severe it is. Sometimes it's bad enough that my lower back seizes up and won't bend or is so excruciating that bending isn't an option.

If cramps are bad enough, it's not a matter of gutting it out.

I've never liked LeBron, but this criticism is meatball at it's worst.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

I was listening to KFAN on the drive to lunch, and the guy who was filling in for Common (I think), said he wasn't going to criticize him for getting cramps. But he was going to nail him for:
1. Getting carried off the court.
2. Allowing the cramps to happen in the first place. You need to be in control of your body and properly hydrate.
3. Just sitting on the bench and not getting the cramp massaged out. Or at least attempting to do something. Nope. Just sat there.
