Bottom Feeders 2017-18

Got it; that explains the summit of Mount Washington. Timcat must have read about the year-round resident cat in the summit observatory, Marty.

The cat will be removed during the tournament. Cute and cuddly has no place in this shoot hole of a tournament.

Marty the MWO Maine Coon cat ain't cute and cuddly. You can call him anything, just don't call him late for dinner. :)

Neither do outdoor games, especially on mountaintops, which run the risk of better "media" coverage (i.e. a ham doing CW on a dead band).

Re: Bottom Feeders 2017-18

I've seen a couple stories of concern about the Olympics opening ceremonies, because it's "only" supposed to be about 15 F (-10 C) in the stadium. Am expecting there won't be similar stories written before the games on Mount Washington (because nobody will know about them :D)

There will be carrier pigeons.

It is not just the 15 degree slope on the summit parking lot (actually I think it is closer to 10 degree slope) that will be challenging for the downice team, but also the high wind speeds; perhaps a prevailing 100+ mph northwesterly wind will compensate for the upice advantage some of the time?
