I assume they bring the trophy because BC can clinch it either outright or even clinch a tie if they lose. However do they present it if it is only a tie since there are still games to play? If it was the last game they would.

When winning it on the road, I'm not sure what the protocol is. I think they might just present it in the locker room. I remember them clinching one at UVM where there were pics from the locker room but not sure if they presented it out on the ice.

Screw it. It's BU. If Bertagna gives the trophy in a quiet locker room ceremony, take it and skate around the ice anyway.

Boldy is filthy , he’s must watch every shift . To our Merrimack buddy above- yes, so much fun to watch especially compared to the blackboard scratching of the past 2-3 years when we couldn’t put three tape to tape passes together. The way this team invades the offensive zone , in waves, is awesome to watch . PK is improving , 80% woulda killed us , so good to see. Attendance is up substantially from last year and we lead HE bit over 1000 a game so I can live with the slim “crowd” last night . They must have used the tickets sold last night because there’s no way that there were 3000 in the building. On to Agganis !

that boldy goal was disgusting.

as for the crowd, merrimack has to be the lowest draw in HE, it's a thursday and spring break starts today, not surprising.

God I hope they do this. Hopefully with enough BC fans in the building to start a rousing SuxToBU chant.

York was asked by a student reporter after the game if the freshman line would be back next year. He said something like "oh ya they'll be back. At least that's what their moms are saying". Thought that was a good line.

If UMass loses tonight, doubt the trophy is even there Saturday since BC would have clinched share of title and #1 seed. Not sure the allure of winning it "outright" would be deemed trophy worthy but who knows. The weirdest scenario would be BC losing tomorrow but winning the title based off UMass losing tomorrow night or something like that. Awkward.

I think the Red Sox clinched the AL East a couple years ago during a game against the Yankees and lost that game on a walk off grand slam. Something like that.

Finally, Boldy has just one more goal than Wahlstrom had last year. And it's night and day in terms of how impactful each player was.

No comparison, Wahlstrom was just an up and down player, with a good shot, he did not have much of a handle and was not very creative. Good third line player. Boldy is just a different player all around and pair him up with Hardman and Newhook and look out, they are very tough to defend. Real fun to watch them work together and it seems like they really like playing with one another.

One last thing that came to mind. Did anyone from USA hockey actually put in the time to scout Boldy this year or did they just look at his stat line and determine ok we'll leave him off the world junior team...

Total buffoonery in that decision.

Man, that freshmen line is just deadly. And fun to watch. Probably not so fun to play against though...

The winning will help. You think perhaps if BC and BU's records were reversed there would be a chance that Zegras would come back for his sophomore year? Because there's none now.

Senior Night should be interesting

It's nice to see players like Cotton and Matilla's leave on a positive season and their parents beside them.

It would have been nice for them to get a Beanpot but 1st Place Trophy is nice after a few years of mediocre seasons by BC standards.

Hopefully they can also win the HE Tournament and stay East in Worcester in the Regionals.

I dont think these kids care too much sadly. They arent invested in "BC" or BU" they are invested in themselves and this is just a stop on their way to a payday in the NHL. Zegras is definitely one and done as are most 1st round picks nowadays...Wahlstrom had poor year and he even left, Farabee - gone, Tkachuk - gone. If you are 1st round pick the norm is one and done for forwards at least. Dman tend to need more seasoning and goalies even more so. Odds are Boldy and Newhook are gone. Knight with one more season at BC would be my guess.
