Boston College 2024-25 TV * JG * MG

Eamon Powell was best D-man and an excellent puck mover. He is 5” 11. Minnetian might be second best and same height .. Hreschuk was very good defender and same size. Have no idea what team you were watching.
Offense was fine with the elite players brought in over past two years such as Leonard, Perreault, Stiga, Hagens .. Lines 3 and 4 are loaded with walk-on/partial scholarship type leftovers from York. Will Vote shows some promise but may have a line 3 cap on him. Posma is a 4th line center who was forced up to line 3 and on the 2nd power play unit..Incoming class should bolster some depth, scoring on bottom 6 lines.
Tim: If you remember our defense could not get the puck out of their own zone when GB arrived. He has definitely brought in bigger players on defense. I think Skahan is going to be a great defender. I agree with you on Will Vote, but the offense other than the all world line, has not been that strong. The power play was 17.6% this year!

I hear that GB is looking at several major junior players, but that those players are waiting to see where they go in the draft.

BC can have up to 26 scholarships next year.

Go Eagles!🦅

PP took a huge hit after Will Smith & Cutter Gauthier departed for NHL. No easy solution to replace 40% of that unit.
Defensemen are all about 5” 11 ish, with exception of Skahan-who I think is a really good skater and can work shots to the net. It was not a “size” issue, but a talent one. Leddy had size but was limited in skating, skill and was pushed down depth chart & transferred out.
Agree that Brown is now bringing in some bigger prospects like Moore (tall but very thin), Kostadinski. Pitka, Mutryn but also fast skill guys like Cornforth and D-Radivojevic, Graham Jones, BC wins with speed & skill, not size IMHO. If a player has both attributes-that works fine.
Conmy should be a great boost to offense as he is point per game forward. Hoping we land one of those elite OHL forwards with whom we have been linked.

I think the OHL forwards are waiting until after the draft to make their decision. If they get two of those players and Jevlik & Gasseau return they will be reloaded and have their best senior class is a long time.

I saw the same ability in Skahan getting pucks to the net. Defensively they will be very good again.

Go Eagles 🦅

BC just flipped a goalie commit from Northeastern. Luka Cloutier. From Sherbrooke, Quebec and playing for the Chicago Steel in the USHL. A fifth round draft pick by the Colorado Avalanche. Cloutier had originally committed to UN-Omaha. Selected to the USHL All-Rookie team.

Maybe in return we can give them Letourneau back ) Seriously I hope Letourneau can pick it up this coming fall season. His numbers were absolutely abysmal but perhaps some maturity and hard work can improve his skating and shooting skills.

Interesting, I was chatting with a division one ref and he said BC was getting a really good goalie in 2026. Sounds like a logjam next year with 4 goalies. Jan Korec was pretty good when he spelled Fowler in a few games.

These situations have a way of sorting themselves out. The next goalie I see committed to BC is Ryan Cameron of the USNDT. The Heisenberg site has him listed as arriving in 2027. Korec and Musielak would be seniors in 26-27.

Tobias Pitka, scheduled to come this fall, is headed to NMU. Anybody know what happened? Ted Mutryn was listed as coming in 2026 on BC Hockey Blogs recruiting list. Is he coming in early to replace Pitka?
