BGSU Falcons 2015-16

Re: BGSU Falcons 2015-16

Justin Wells makes the 2016 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game

"The United States Hockey League and NHL Central Scouting announced the players selected to compete in the 2016 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game that will take place on Jan. 12 in Omaha, Neb., at Ralston Arena, home of the USHL’s Omaha Lancers.
The selection process for players competing in the game was completed in cooperation with NHL general managers and scouts, NHL Central Scouting and USHL general managers. All 40 players chosen are eligible for the 2016 NHL Draft, including 27 players that are in their first year of eligibility for the NHL Draft."

Mingo gone

https://twitter.com/BGSUHockeySite

He didn't play either game when I was back there for the Minnesota State series.......combination of grades and "attitude" is what I was told by a few people back there. Well....he gone now and we are back to only 7 D again and only 6 healthy(counting Ernst).

Really amazing what this team has done defensively with such a screwed up situation back there all year.

Probably need to bring in another guy now......if that is even possible......

Absolutely this. I figure that it'll be really hard to bring someone in at this date — you have to get them admitted/enrolled in a hurry.

Re: BGSU Falcons 2015-16

I had heard rumblings that there would possibly be a second D coming in when I was back there for the MSU series.

How the "Mingo Situation" shook out was at the time what was going to be the deciding factor. With that resolved and Adam and Jordan coming in hopefully we can now get the backend a little more settled and allow Friedman to scale back some minutes and hopefully become more of a force in the Offensive zone for a team that really needs to have more offense from the D.

Hopefully they can adapt quickly to Bergeron's system and the college game. Guess we'll find out shortly...

Re: BGSU Falcons 2015-16

I'm not one to normally complain about officiating, but the WCHA refs are just plain horrible. BG has had 5 goals disallowed in its last 7 games. Of which, to my understanding of the rules anyway, one was a legit call.

Tonight Defiel is outside of his crease AND he initiates the contact with the BG player as he goes down into the butterfly......goal waived off.
On LSSU's game winner, their player is skating right through the crease from the right as Nell attempts to make the save, the puck goes off him somewhere and somehow in.....good goal. What?? Complete joke.

Nell went straight to the Ref to voice his displeasure, they looked at it for like 5 seconds and said it stood. Of course, its not helped by the fact that crappy LSSU feed has no camera on that end.... most of their broadcast is a high angle, single press box camera.

Hopefully Bergeron gets on the horn to the WCHA about what exactly is goalie interference...its just getting ridiculous with the calls.....sure seems to be being called one way against BG and not the same at the other end of the rink. Complete BS tonight.

Re: BGSU Falcons 2015-16

Ryan Carpenter added to the AHL All-Star team, woot!
So far this season, 32 pts. in 36 games with the San Jose Barracuda.

"The 2016 Toyota AHL All-Star Classic in Syracuse will be televised live to an international audience on Sunday, Jan. 31 (8 p.m. ET) and Monday, Feb. 1 (7 p.m. ET) and will feature the top young talent in the American Hockey League: Of the 679 players to take part in the AHL All-Star Classic since 1995, more than 94 percent have competed in the National Hockey League..."

Re: BGSU Falcons 2015-16

We made it to the Final Five again. That deserves a bump to our thread as our thread has been very bare the past few weeks.

Roll Along. That is all.

Re: BGSU Falcons 2015-16

-> a playoff series win every year under Bergeron.
-> 22 wins on the season, and we can still pass last year's 23.
