Really disappointing weekend against Mercyhurst. 4 critical AHC points up for grabs, come away with none. Both games were tied deep into the 3rd period as well, but simple defending mistakes cost us. Hurst's Derek Barach put up 5! goals on the weekend, a pretty outstanding performance.

I really don't believe we were outplayed in either game. It's just a constant battle with holding leads, or scoring a crucial goal when they need it most. In fact, the largest margin of defeat the Falcons have faced this season was against Air Force, where they lost 4-1 (including an empty netter). They have had a chance in basically EVERY game they've played this season, but can't seem to find ways to win. I really thought last weekend was a turning point, but the Falcons now sit 9th in the AHC with a few more games played than most other teams.

On the bright side, their ability to keep up with every team they've played is a good indicator for the playoffs, where a competitive team that gets hot at the right time can win it all.

Harvard should indeed be a good indicator of attendance for the new rink- I have also heard that a new group of students is going to be leading the student section, hopefully with some good chants and clever chirps. A win would mean a lot.

The Hurst entered this weekend with 4 regulars out of their lineup for Friday & 3 regulars out of their lineup for the Saturday, 7 freshmen lacing up the blades in each of the two contests. That said the Hurst has a young team this season and doesn't carry a super large bench as in previous years so consistency is likely to continue throughout the season.

I did find the amount of penalty calls in the Saturday game to be an issue for both clubs, very hard to get any tempo going when it seems it comes down to specialty teams. The officiating this season has been pretty solid in most cases, and without the officials we wouldn't have any game so we have to be appreciative of their hard work even if things do go south on some nights.

It has always been correct in Atlantic Hockey that the teams who peaks at the right time can go a long way. I don't put much stock into these early season results, come January however is the time to start showing consistency and is when it starts to matter.

Both gentlemen who call your games are outstanding, especially the younger one who i believe might be on the lacrosse team. If anyone knows them please let them know they are some of the best commentators in the game, hats off to them as they make the game fun to watch listening to the banter and knowledge they put into the broadcast. The video quality was excellent as well through Stretch Internet.

Agreed that it would be nice to beat Hahvud. But, this team needs to start winning against AHC teams, assuming the Falcons do not want to be on the road again in the first postseason round. Best suggestion that I have is STAY OUT OF THE PENALTY BOX!

If it weren't for getting swept at home over the weekend, I would chalk this up to a moral victory. Other than the first 10 minutes, the boys skated well against a team with better talent and much bigger size.

Harvard did a good job of connecting on tape-to-tape passing, using their size to gain position, and got a great game from Lackey in net.

Bentley was flailing at times, trying to throw garbage on net and capture rebounds. Despite Harvard's forechecking preventing solid transition into the zone, Bentley played very scrappy and determined hockey. The effort was there, but superior talent and a hot goaltender kept Cinderella from making an appearance.

26 days to think about three straight losses at home.

Yup, that pretty much sums up the 2-1 loss to Harvard tonight. But, a much closer score than our previous defeats at Bright. Falcons had several additional skirmishes around the Harvard net besides the one leading to our only goal, but Lackey held his ground well. Harvard's two goals were lasers that Pelino had little chance in stopping. Kudos to Harvard.

Great turn out at the Bentley Arena tonight, as there were very few empty seats during the second period, which was the traditional period in which Bentley students attended games at the JAR.

Bentley should have a good chance again on the 30th at UNH, which is reeling with injuries and a continued inability to score goals that even surpasses that of the Falcons.

Tough game against you guys last night, Bentley played very well, and put a lot of pressure on Lackey. Great arena, well-lit, good sightlines, reasonably priced concessions, and good support by the Bentley crowd, although I wish I was not seated in front of a lady who rang her bell incessantly. Enjoyed our experience there. Took some pictures of a goalie from the 70's whose photo was on the wall; the guy sits next to us at Patriot games.

Glad that you enjoyed our arena, CF. I think that the mini-cow bells were a one off, I hope; yes, agreed, over the top irritating. It was fun watching your coach behind the bench from across the ice.

Not nearly the number of kids as at the Harvard game.

Nice 5-2 win tonight at Bobby Mo, which was a 4-0 shut out until late in third; out shot their opponent almost 2-1.

Good 5-2 win at home against RIT on Saturday night, after settling for a 2-2 tie on Friday night, but that is another three points, and seven over the past two weekends. But, still need three more wins to reach 0.500, although the Falcons have a game or two in hand over several AHC teams ahead of them in the standings. Overall, I thought that the Falcons played very well this weekend, with a lot of energy from beginning to end, along with some good fore checking. Pelino was excellent in both games, the blue liners did a fine job breaking out the puck, and the forwards made the most of their shots on net, including scoring a PPG each night. But, probably the key to the win on Saturday night was killing off 1 min 18 seconds of 5-3 PP, mostly at the beginning of the third.

Was able to watch some of Friday and most of Saturday... Really tough settling for a tie after jumping to a quick 2-0 lead on Friday. That being said they played solid down the stretch with the game on the line and really earned the point. Saturday was a dominant performance. Despite being slightly outshot, the Falcons controlled the play for the majority of the game. Throw in some highlight reel snipes and a strong performance between the pipes and this team is rolling! As you point out, we do have a few games in hand vs most of the conference. The next two weekends will be a huge opportunity. Canisus sits near the bottom of the conference but will no doubt be a tough series. The following weekend vs. Air Force will be a good barometer to see how we stack up against a top contender for the AHC regular season title. Go Falcons!

Really like how this team is playing right now. 5 game unbeaten streak without allowing more than 2 goals in our last 4. Pelino is really coming into his own, and he looks very confident back there. His rebound control has improved tremendously throughout the season. On offense, we are finally taking advantage of our opportunities. We're scoring when we SHOULD be scoring, and we're pretty consistent on the PP. The penalty kill is getting a little bit better as well. If the team can keep up the good play, a home playoff series shouldn't be out of the question. Excited for the next few weeks!

THAT was a fun game to watch. Despite being completely outmatched on the PP through most of the game, they stood up very well against AF at full strength. Center ice passing was better than the past, and they held ground against a bigger squad.

It honestly felt like they were much better matched at full strength as opposed to being on the PP. That AF PK was impressive.
