Re: Bentley @ RPI, Saturday night
Just got back from the Field House, and I witnessed the most complete game an Engineer team has played since before the year 2000.
Helfrich is back. If he does not get hurt, people will be asking Brandon who? by the end of the year. Tinordi played very well, he is tough to play against. He owns the boards and plays with an edge. He also seems to have some chemistry with Halpern. The played very well together.
I would get very excited, except we did this against Bentley, and I don't think that they will be in the top 25 anytime this year.
Still need to finish. Malchuk was set up by Tinordi around the four minute mark of the game, he just couldn't put it in the net. It looked like he was surprised that Tinordi was able to get the puck to him in front of the net.
Lee also missed a wide open net in the second period when Polacek gave him a great pass about twenty feet in front of the net. Lee shoe it over the net.
Defense was great, York was as good as he had to be.
I watched Merriam during the warmups, and came away with a very good feeling about him. He took the warm up very seriously even though he was not playing. You don't see that too often.
It really looks like all of the players from the third line back played like they didn't want to come out of the line up.
I can't wait for next week.
