Bemidji @ UAA

Re: Bemidji @ UAA

That shouldn't take too long. I've already told 2 season ticket holders, and they had no clue. Maybe UAA should put me on the payroll for doing someone else's job.

I told a few fans who are regulars but don't have season tickets, and they had no clue either. One of the couples was not planning on coming on Fri, just Sat, and they would have missed most of the game had they not been told.

Re: Bemidji @ UAA

Last evenings Coaches Corner radio broadcast was well attended and featured senior defenseman Derek Docken.
Derek is a well spoken young man and gave some insight on the teams mindset going into this weekends games.
Kurt, as usual, put on an entertaining show with Coach Thomas giving insight into several areas of the hockey program.
It's a great day to be a Seawolf!

Re: Bemidji @ UAA

I thought we paid for the travel of teams up here? Or is my age, starting to get the best of me?

Now that I think about it, we shouldn't pay for Bemidji coming up here, ever since we started playing them they have been kicking our arse.

I don't know how this works with the new league. I was told that in the "old" WCHA we didn't have to pay for Mankato, since they entered the league after we did. I would be curious to know how this was worked out for the NWCHA.

As I understand it, the UA schools subsidize travel. What I have heard about UAH's subsidy is that it is the difference between your next-longest trip (say, LSSU to Bemidji) and the cost of traveling to Huntsville.

just curious but do you get a lot of families to attend your games? Sometimes it seems you can hear young kids in the background. Or is our radio guy sitting near a family zone seating area?

Re: Bemidji @ UAA

I think the Seapup club has helped in the attendance of children. It was a new change this year and I hope it is popular. I even ended up buying one for a friend's daughter. Below is the link for the news release. I have heard talk that they might expand this to the other sports too. I hope so because you have to start those fans young.

And I really liked Saturday's game being early, especially since they did a Seapups Skate with the Seawolves right after it. Most times the game ends so late that any skate after it doesn't have the attendance you would like to see in it. I only stayed in the Sully long enough to see what the attendance was for the skate and I did crack a smile when I saw Chris Williams out in the rink as the first Seawolf and just enjoying skating with those Seapups.

I believe your radio guy sits to the left of Kurt, the Voice of the Seawolves. There are no seats in that area, so I'm not sure what you heard on the radio.

It's a great deal, it comes out to $1.50 a game, or something like that. I didn't mind an early game, and I heard they may do more of this in the future. But next time it needs to be printed on the tickets correctly so there is no confusion about it.
