Bemidji State Beavers: Looking Forward to 2015-16!

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Looking Forward to 2015-16!

Just got back from the UND game. They jumped out on us early, got outshot 10-1 for a while. North Dakota is big, fast, and handles the puck well. They're really good. We were 1/4 of a second away from a goal at the end of the 2nd period, but too late. I can't believe our power play. Last year it was a curse to be a man up, but this year we're scoring and scoring early. Although we wanted to win, I'll take a 4-4 tie, especially after falling behind in the first period.

This is the biggest thing I have noticed as well. Last year they were absolutely awful on PP. 3 of 5 tonight. Complete 180 from last year. Very encouraging.

We don't have a goalie.

what happened to UND goalie after the second? I didn't see anything to indicate he got hurt. Good game for the Beavs. Poor Pedan looked like he got cut. Hope he's ok.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Looking Forward to 2015-16!

true2BSU: He did get hurt. They didn't say what.

About the game: Meh, you didn't win.

He caught a high stick up by the mouth or nose. One of the college girls was worried he might have lost a tooth. : ) we didn't win, but we didn't lose either. Not too bad.

Was that at the almost goal at 20:00.01 of the 2nd period?

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Looking Forward to 2015-16!

Beavers fall at North Dakota 5-2. 2-2 with 15 minutes left in the 3rd, then a couple goals and an empty netter and it that's all she wrote.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Looking Forward to 2015-16!

Thanks Geof. Does this tie against a #1 help the WCHA's power ratings or just a wash?

It helps for sure. Falling apart tonight didn't, but they are #1, so ... losing to them isn't as bad as losing to ASU.

We might be going to check out the Ft Wayne Komets Saturday, but Walsh moved on? Well, crap...

You will just have to watch their schedule and try to catch some of the other former Beavers that are in the "E".

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Looking Forward to 2015-16!

Just got back from the BSU-Mankato game. How depressing. 1st of all, congrats to Mankato. They got it done. Mankato wins 3-2 with 2, I repeat 2 out 3 goals were shorthanded. Wow. I thought we got rid of our power play blues that was so prevalent last year.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Looking Forward to 2015-16!

Another 3-2 loss to Mankato. They're too good to make sloppy turnovers and unforced penalties and expect to win. Will be going to my alma mater NMU next weekend. I guess I can't lose. Let's get back on track! Go Beavers!

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Looking Forward to 2015-16!

Made the 400 mile trip to Marquette. 65 minutes of play and 0-0 OT. We played pretty well. Got out shot 5-1 early then out shot the Cats something like 25 of the next 26 attempts. Can't remember how it turned out but something like 47-25 Beavers. We even withheld about a minute and 1/2 5 on 3 without giving up the goal. We did have our PP chances but couldn't come up with a goal. Both teams had a couple nice tries at the end but the goaltending prevailed. I'm drained. And there's still tomorrow night.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Looking Forward to 2015-16!

Just dropped Saturday's game 3-1 with an open net face off goal with just 6-7 seconds left in the 3rd. Got up 1-0 in the first then that is all we could get. Had some good shots and attacked well at times, but couldn't deliver.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Looking Forward to 2015-16!

Hmmmm, the offense has not come around like they thought it would. The D was supposed to be young, but looks to have played fairly decently so far. Probably a good time for a bye week.
