Bemidji at Minnesota - This is an Innuendo-free Zone!

I liked Don's comment after the Saturday game "Bemidji plays the game the right way." They play hard and smart and none of the cheap crap or chippy crap after whistles. I liked watching them both games and still think they will surprise more teams this year, like they did the Whioux.

I won't look at it as Bemidji surprising anyone. They are a very good hockey team and will will many games this year.

I think Bemidji was probably the better team on Saturday but they just couldn't quite overcome the skill that Minnesota has across the lineup. Good sweep for the Gophers against a team that I think will win quite a few games this year.

Finally saw a glimpse of what Bristedt can do this weekend. It was just one series, but he did some pretty amazing skating moves in a phone booth. Looks like he's going to help turn the first line with Rau and Fasching into a beast.

Based on style of play, I consider Fasching to remain the real "beast" on this line, assuming these three stay united. It's already obvious that Bristedt has great skill, and when he starts to figure out how and when to use his many talents at this level he will be a real treat for Gopher fans to watch. Add in Rau's utter grit and determination - along with what seems like even greater poise and savvy than ever - and this line should be VERY productive this season.

I also like that Bristedt is not afraid to throw his weight (such as it is) around. He cleared the way on Rau's highlight reel goal when he went to the net carrying one d-man with him while Rau dangled the other D.

Great point...I know that he had a reputation of bringing some grit to his game, and that play provided some evidence of that being true.

And getting back so skill, how about that inside/out move he displayed on Saturday? Even though he didn't score on the play, it sure had the crowd "oohing and awing" and nodding in appreciation.
