BC's Coach York... Coach of the Year!

Re: BC's Coach York... Coach of the Year!

I've just got goose bumps all over

If they actually look like geese, you should probably have a doctor look at that.

Or, at least take pictures and put them on the internet so that people can write funny captions!

-1 points for the Internets today.

-1 for spell checker as it actually had the word "Internets" in its database. All aboard the fail boat!

Re: BC's Coach York... Coach of the Year!

Coach of the Year should clearly be Dick Umile for winning the Hockey East Regular Season trophy and almost beating traditional powerhouse RIT in the regional finals.

Maybe next year, Jerry..

Re: BC's Coach York... Coach of the Year!

It's not that much of a stretch to call York COTY. Going into this year BC was very young, coming off a mediocre season, and had an goaltender recovering from major surgery. He played the Muse-Milner situation perfectly, juggled the lines at the right time, and kept his sighs on the national title.

In terms of overall wins (not correcting for tournament w/l) BC was 11 wins better than 08-09, best in the country.

Re: BC's Coach York... Coach of the Year!

Jerry getting this over Wilson does make sense. After all, it's usually a direct comparison of the actual results against what they were expected to do and USCHO did predict BC to finish in 8th place in Hockey East.

Nice job Hendrickson, you clownshoe.

(Luckily for the jokers that pick that Penrose they don't have to worry about picking against any of their preseason expectations).

Re: BC's Coach York... Coach of the Year!

Can't see why it wouldn't be York. Best coach out there, period. Can't wait for him to retire.

Watching BC this year, I saw a good team that I never thought would be a championship contender. Typical York team though, they gave 110% for him, he gameplans to their strenghts instead of forcing everybody to play the way he thinks they should, and then they build up a boatload of confidence going into the tournament. Once there, they're one of the toughest outs you'll find regardless of their talent level. This year was arguably his best coaching job of his career at BC.

Re: BC's Coach York... Coach of the Year!

So.....this isn't the Penrose? Is this a new award? I'm confused. Not that he doesn't deserve either or both. He does. Also, is that National Rookie of the Year new? I don't ever recall that.

all the reporting websites (INCH, USCHO, CHN) are now picking awards.. COTY, POTY, ROTY, AA teams.. none of them are official.
