Denver and BC close out the 18th annual Wells Fargo Denver Cup tournament tonight with the 4th and final game of the tournament at Magness Arena. The game is at 7:07 p.m. MT. DU defeated UNO 7-0 in their first game on Friday while BC was upset by SLU 5-2. The game will be televised live on FSN Rocky Mountain and FCS Central. The games will also be broadcast on 104.3 FM with a pay audiocast (Pioneer Vision) and live stats available at www.DenverPioneers.com.

The winners of the first games don't play each other? How do they determine tourney winner if they both win---goal differential?

Thanks to Mike Chambers for posting the tourney criteria in his Denver Post blog.

(From DU media relations): Here is the criteria used for determining the Wells Fargo Denver Cup champion in the showcase format:

1. The Denver Cup uses a showcase format where games are pre-determined prior to the start of the tournament. Awards will be presented immediately following the 7:07 pm game on Saturday 1/2. Each team will be recognized for their participation and an all tournament team and MVP will be awarded. The following formula will be used to determine the Denver Cup champion.

1. Win – loss – tie record (not taking shootouts into account)

If tied, the following tie-breakers, in order will be used:

o Win – loss record including result from shootout

o Head to head results

o Goal differential (GS-GA=GD)

o Fewest goals allowed

o Shootout differential (GS-GA=GD)

o If still tied – co-champions will be declared

Pac-10 Hoops is on FCS Central with 2:15 left between WSU and OSU. DU game will come on immediately after.

Mike Lee in goal for USA in Saskatoon. Game on in Saskatoon; USA/Finland.

DU game will start a little late due to the OT and shootout in the first game between UNO and SLU.

DU line-up changes for tonight. Changes were made so everyone gets playing time not for nayone not playing well. Lots of competition for the line-up.
