Atlantic Hockey Postseason Pick'em 2014

Re: Atlantic Hockey Postseason Pick'em 2014

Three pretty exciting games this past weekend but in the end, somebody's got to lose. Congrats on an otherwise spectacular Bentley season.

Just a thought as we look at 4 western pod teams in the finals again........what if the AHA put together a play-off season based off divisions or pods so that the top two from each division play in the finals. This would change up the finals in a good way. If the western division is better, theoretically, the two teams from the western pod would still make the finals but overall, it would switch up who plays in the finals each year.
Well, I can tell you "what if" ... You would likely end up with two teams that do not deserve to be in the final four of AHA Tourney. I certainly do not see how giving what amounts to a free pass to the final four would change the finals in a "good way." I understand that the Eastern Bloc teams tend to lose interest early and Rochester just does not happen for them. It is up to those teams to step up their programs and their commitments.

I think parity is making it's way into AHA, although the eastern pod occupying the bottom three doesn't lend itself to that thinking. In the end, you're correct though and deserving teams should be in the finals.

Re: Atlantic Hockey Postseason Pick'em 2014

It is with much sadness that I find myself in the lead at this stage. Would have given up any number of points for the one point that I did not get for picking my Bentley Falcons for a trip to Rochester. Numbers 2, 3, and 4 all out now. Congrats to Bobby Mo, Niagara, and Canisius for joining the Lakers in Rochester.

soooo.....you going to make your picks? You're the rabbit this week and the hounds are four points back waiting for you to make your move!

I am still in mourning, but I will snap out of it in a couple more days.

I also find it funny that while I tanked in the regular season, I'm doing relatively well in the postseason.

I think you clinched at least a tie for the top spot, and I am the only one that can tie you if Canisius wins.

Do you and I go to shootout at that point? :)

If I can have my Bentley guy Brett Gensler in an Olympic style shoot out, sounds good.

Thanks, Blazer, and mar for managing these threads. I am relieved that I do not need to duel Komey with pistols. Also, nice consolation prize for my two teams, Bentley and UNH, not moving on.

So, now you Colonials, go beat those Gophers next weekend and get to the Frozen Four!
