A) It was against Merrimack. The game against UML was not their most recent
B) There were no game disqualifications assessed against UConn (at least not in the box score that I'm looking at); they were all game misconducts. Game misconducts do not carry any mandated additional game suspension.

I was at the game and they were definitely game disqualifications. Two were hitting from behind and can't remember what the third was, pulling the face mask????
Not be outdone, the warriors had one game disqualification as well.
At the end of the first period one UConn player charged on to the ice and I thought that might be a game misconduct at a minimum but that was only a 2 minute, go figure.

I would recommend looking at the link that I provided and revising your statement.
I see a Boarding major + Game Misconduct; a HFB major + Game Misconduct; and a Facemasking major + Game Misconduct all assessed to UConn with no majors, misconducts (other than the 2-minute unsportsman variety), or disqualifications assessed to Merrimack.

Guess I really don't give hoot what link you have. I was at the game and 3 times UConn players left the rink. If this is a misconduct so be it. But each time the player left the ice not to return. They were all 5 minute penalties. I would have thought it would be called a disqualification when you are leave the ice.

It can be either a misconduct or a disqualification.

Explanation / differentiation is found on pp. HR-43 through HR-44 (pages 46-47) of the current rulebook.

If its just a "10 minute misconduct" they can return to the ice. if it is a "game misconduct," they are out for the rest of the game. A "game disqualification" forces you to be out the rest of the current game and the next game.

He used a variation of the copy and paste. He pasted in the schedule and then, in very bad form, skipped the required 'Bold' standard for his own wimsical '=' sign standard.

Quite the renegade there! :)

They were all 5 minute penalties and when Merrimack scored a goal on one of them the player who was serving the penalty remained in the box. So can a player be removed from the ice and it still be just a game misconduct or does that make it a game disqualification???

There are two types of misconduct - a misconduct penalty, commonly called a 10 minute misconduct, and a game misconduct. For a 10 minute misconduct, the player sits in the box for 10 minutes in addition to their penalty time (or will sometimes head back to the locker room if there is less than 10 minutes left in the period). Someone else serves the minor/major for them. After the penatly time, the second player returns to the ice, but the player who got the misconduct stays in the box for an extra 10 minutes.

In a game misconduct, the player leaves the ice and returns to the locker room. They cannot play for the rest of the game.

For a game disqualification, the player leaves the ice. The cannot play the rest of that game plus the next one (if it is their first DQ of the season - the number of games they need to sit out goes up with each DQ in one season).

All 3 of these (10 minute misconduct, game misconduct, game disqualification) show up on the score sheet as a 10 minute penalty. Also, if a player gets three or more game misconducts in one season, they start turning into game DQs.

This is the definition of a major penalty.

This can be either a game misconduct or a game disqualification. mar's explanation is very thorough and I also provided the official rulebook which deals with the distinction of the two.
