Lucky
I believe I am here on time this year.
We have 11 teams this year...thanks for coming back Robert Morris...so the basis of scoring will not change, but maximums will.
You will have until Saturday, October 14th, at 3:59PM EST to get your picks in. I believe that is the first conference game of the year, with Robert Morris taking on Mercyhurst in the Mercyhurst barn.
Enjoy yourself. Your prize is your name written at the top of this post, next season.
TalonsUpPuckDown (TUPD) was our human winner from the 2022-23 season with a final score of 72.
The teams really followed a pattern from the previous year and "Last Year Results" was the number 1 static/poll/automated winner with a score of 44.
Can you beat TUPD?
Can you beat Last Years Results? (will work Robert Morris in as finishing in last place)
Can you beat the every present and totally frightening Random Number Generator?
Here is how it will work. The following is plagiarized:
Pick the Atlantic Hockey Standings at the end of the 2023-24 season in order from 1-11 (no ties). Playoff seedings determine the position of the teams in case of a regular season tie.
Scoring is as follows: You will receive a score based on the square of the distance from your picks to the actual standings (e.g., if you pick a team in 4th but they finish in 7th, you get (7-4)2 or 9 points). Sum those up for the eleven Atlantic Hockey teams and you'll have a score between 0 and 440. The entrant with the lowest score will be our winner.
As a reminder, you have until Saturday, October 14th, at 3:59PM EST, just before the Robert Morris v. Mercyhurst game, to get your picks in.
Tie breakers are:
Pick correctly the Atlantic Hockey Regular Season Champ.
Have the most teams in the correct order of finish.
Have the most top 6 teams in the correct order of finish.
I will flip a coin.
You can change your picks at any time up till the drop of the puck on October 14th, however DO NOT EDIT THE ORIGINAL PICKS. Just put up a new post with your change.
Just like last time, I look forward to participating with the 8 total entries last year. Can we make it 9?
I think that is all...so have at it!
