ASU @ RPI, 12/11/15 and 12/12/15

Re: ASU @ RPI, 12/11/15 and 12/12/15

Red Cloud's right on the $. Pac 12 tv network is looking for content... there is no hockey presence on the network this year, but let's see how ASU's arena and a home schedule begin to take shape. (ASU: being first matters. Great story on how they cultivated some major donors, or better yet, how major donors sold ASU on hockey.)

Thanks to all who responded to my question.
But it still looks to me like ASU's program is going to be out there all by itself. Which means a lot of travel expenses. I guess if the reason was money, than they must know what they are doing.

Re: ASU @ RPI, 12/11/15 and 12/12/15

How's this for wanting two RPI victories this weekend:

I'm an RPI grad - class of '92, AND a Tucson resident for the past 17 years (home of ASU's arch-rivals, University of Arizona)...Soooo LET'S GO RED and U of A!!! I think if we play a disciplined, puck controlled game without a propensity to turn the puck over in our own end or have a crap load of intercepted passes (see Dartmouth game), we should be OK. That said - there is enough parity in college hockey for anything to happen, but you all already know that. :)

I will also be in the house this weekend.

Perhaps Lugnut knows Tucson Mike, both being '92 RPI grads...

My ASU alum friend said ~ half of the Pac12 have club teams and/or are looking to develop into a legit league.

Unless there is a Phil Knight or Terry Pegula behind the scenes of whom we are unaware...

They're also, you know, Arizona State.

Pashovitz sure saw a lot of rubber tonight.

Do the Sun Devils send him back out again tomorrow night, or do they consider that he has already given them enough work for one weekend and start one of their other goalies?

ASU article on yesterday's game http://www.thesundevils.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=30300&ATCLID=210579203. Amazingly it does not mention a single RPI player by name.

“That team is old and strong,” Powers said. “That was probab;y the hardest working team we played.”
Thanks to Powers for saying that RPI is hard working. We may be strong, and he would have been correct calling us experienced, but although ASU is mainly freshmen, their average age is actually a half year more than RPI's.

ASU http://www.eliteprospects.com/team.php?year0=&team=18066 21.69 years
RPI http://www.eliteprospects.com/team.php?year0=&team=1758 21.19 years
(The averages are after the rosters on each page.)

A team with a roster made up predominantly by freshman has an older average age than our team? Guess they don't support the B1G's proposal. ;)
