Jeebus. They're finally starting to get the warmth of the skin that has been one of the most elusive tricks in the CGI world.

The jumps from 3 to 4 and 7 to 8 had to be console generation jumps. Especially 3 to 4. Good lord.

Have you seen deep fake porn? I (cough) am told (cough) that it's "more human than human." It is absolutely impossible to tell it's not real without software. Basically, our imagery tech has now made what we see completely irrelevant to truth. And it's happened really fast. Graphics were still ridiculously clunky 20 years ago. Today they are virtually perfect. Now imagine 20 -- or 100 -- years hence.

Drove from Wisco through Chi down to Nola last week visiting kids. Nice weather to drive, but that stretch through Illinois on I-57 is mind-numbing. In the midst of it, my wife put in a recording of Eliot read by, among others, Jeremy Irons. What a pleasure to be rescued from the endless, shapeless, corporate farmingness of central Illinois by Prufrock. Even those of us in flyover country have no excuse.

Hi, I have been taking music lessons for quite a while now, 5 years, and I can play music very fluently. I recently got my midi keyboard, but I can't think of anything to compose. How do I get started with composing?

Start with your favorite college hockey team's fight song.

It looks great! In general, I became interested in art quite recently while watching https://drawingfan.com/watercolor-painting/ . My grandmother was an artist and I had a lot of her materials in the loft from which I started to create. Now it is my favorite hobby for which I devote a lot of my time. My family will also love what I do so it's great! But this work on the camel is actually very difficult and I would very much like to see the master of this work

I was pretty bored somewhat with this pandemic keeping everyone at home. So I decided to draw vintage christmas cards copied from Pinterest. I was going to send them to friends. Then I decided instead of making them cards, I would frame them as little pictures and gift them to friends and family. I think they will turn out nice. Here is one of a snowy landscape. I

Like it so much:) I think it would look awesome if you backlight it with the lights from https://perfectpicturelights.com/ . Those are lights specifically designed for pictures and other artworks

Superstar opera soprano Anna Netrebko has tweeted her opposition to the war and withdrawn from her European concert tour. The equivalent of Caruso telling Mussolini to go screw.

She also tweeted support for conductor Valery Gergiev who is a Putin supporter who has gotten fired from a bunch of high profile western gigs.
