Re: Ard-uscho poy
There is a lot to be said for who you play with. Even looking at goaltenders, and I'll use the conference for which I am familiar.
Rossman deservedly won 1st team ECAC. However, she played behind a strong defensive team in QU. She made 647 saves at a .949 SPct.
Maschmeyer won the 2nd team ECAC. She played behind the weakest HU team in her tenure, facing 725 shots with a .938 SPct.
Selander won the 3rd team ECAC. She played behind an extremely weak RPI team and made 1058 saves at a .939 SPct. If she had played behind a QU or CCT, two very strong defensive teams, what would her stats have been like?
Admittedly, I only saw Selander in two games this season, only 1 live, and one where she got pulled early. However, I thought she was the best goaltender I saw all season, even over 4 very good goaltenders at the Frozen Four. In the playoff series against QU, her team was outshot 128-19, yet she kept RPI in the games, finally succumbing to 2 OT losses.
