Actually, a bullet tax is kind of perfect. The gun fondlers can have a couple bullets but not shoot them unless it's absolutely necessary. You're going to make sure that box of shells is protected because you just made a car payment to get it. But everything is perfectly legal to own. Hell, even make it refundable once for every deer tag you buy. Ditto on duck licenses. Shit like that. Everyone gets what they want. Except the trap shooters like me :-(

I know it's not an original thought, but it would work.

I know several gun owners / big gun rights advocates who actually agree with this. They hate the Hooray Henry nutbars and preppers even more than we do, because they live next door to them and they are the ones who always get caught in the crossfire when those dopes shoot up their range or bar or church.

But those guys also agree with background checks and psych exams, so they clearly aren't Real 'Muricans.
 
The older I get the more I think we ban guns outright east of Appalachians and west of the Rockies and abolish all guns laws in between.

Trick question. The answer is: fuck you, liberal hippie socialist pedophile! If you try to take guns away from bad people, you will accidentally, occasionally take them away from a good guy and thereby deny his holy right to own any number or types of guns he fucking wants. Far better that 100 homicidal maniacs have access to guns than to allow *that* tragedy to happen even once.
 
Saw headline last week Mississippi also leads the US in rate of gay porn viewing.

Before we jump for joy too much about how crappy Mississippi is, we should ask if any of the "worst" is because they are so racists, and minorities suffer at such a high rate to make the whole state that bad.
