Oh, the original tactic is an atrocity. That's the point. This isn't intended to stand, it's intended to demonstrate how craven and hypocritical the Federalist hacks on the Court are, as they will hve no trouble finding a reason to hear an appeal against and strike down the CA law.

We are in an era where the Nazis own the Court. It's no longer an arbtirar on the merits. When enough people understand that we can take drastic but legal action to coerce the Court back to being a court, not the rubber stamp of the Dumpies.
 
We need massive majorities everywhere. Which isn't going to happen. Roberts recently did a dissent where he was trying to check the Court in the Texas Abortion case. He ended up in the minority. They have 6 now. Roberts no longer matters. Not sure where we go from here to be honest. The salespitch by Republicans on inflation and Build Back Better being evil is working in the press and the general public.

If we lose a free and fair election to Nazis, then we lose (and there won't be another one) -- it was not meant to be. Democracy existed long before us and will exist long after us. The US is, what, the 24th-most democratic nation at this point?

Other than any nation's slide out of democracy, the only truly sad things about it being America's turn are (1) we're so big if we fall into the hands of the Nazis they could literally end sentient life on Earth, and (2) I keep all my stuff here. I can't help (1). But (2) I can change; I'm sure it was a PITA for the Einsteins to move, too.

But honestly I'm old, I've had my life, and I'm lazy. I'm too tired to start over. And why make it easy for them? We're smart enough to take out ten of them for every one of us. Hell, right now that's the ratio and we're not even doing anything.

I think Biden is setup to fail on Ukraine as well and that will be further proof of how much better Trump is.

For me the issue is the vast majority of people don’t really care. We’re in serious trouble and I’m definitely at the point where I’m trying to figure out where to go next.

I would like to think Putin is manipulating his troops levels on the Ukraine border to influence US elections, but taking back Ukraine is the primary Russian geopolitical goal. The US is effectively neutralized already -- if we were attacked today the Republicans would throw in their lot with the attacker to pwn Brandon.

I’m sure making Biden look bad isn’t Putin’s primary objective, I’m just saying be ready for when it happens.

So you are proposing that the Democrats are able to get Supreme Court justices added to the bench, when they can't even fill the current vacancies in the lower courts. Unless a large amount of them have been filled without me looking. (Which is entirely possible, not being a jerk here.)

The Dems have the right to end the filibuster. Then it's over. But, I'm not sure that can happen anyway. The Dems effectively have 58 in the Senate. So, slash away, I know I am.

Depends what you mean by "taking back."
Putin does not want Ukraine like he has Crimea.
He wants it like he has Belarus.

Yes, I quite agree. Like he would have had them with Viktor Yanukovych. Puppet states, like the Warsaw Pact.
