Perhaps don't waste half a ****ing hour with a Hollywood circle-jerk for the best actors and actresses. Seriously they should have had the entire academy get on stage a blow each other at least that would have been entertaining.

It's like they don't know shades of grey here...
On one hand (for the supporting roles), they show edited mini-trailers which don't really highlight the performance, but rather just summarize the entire film. I feel like I've seen Invictus because I saw the Best Supporting Actor presentation.
On the other hand (for the leading roles), they show the aforementioned circle jerk about how "generous" the actors are and how much they'd like to recieve a Cleveland steamer from them.
So on one hand, you get too many clips. On the other hand, you get no clips. Stupid.
I figure the formula is simple:
For all acting awards, show a quick- 15 second clip of the nominated performance. Something that puts the skills of the actor on display. It doesn't have to give anything big away, just a good example from the film. What's wrong with that?
