Uggghhh terrible timing for the UND series with the students on break. Great to see a B1G team back on the schedule though, if only for one game. RPI series should be fun. Thought we were doing home-and-home with Air Force for good now, but I guess not.

The home non-conference schedule of RPI, BC, AFA and Wisconsin beats the hell outta Niagara, Canisius, Brown and Merrimack in terms of name recognition, period.

Truth. And @ Lynah for two is a lot better than going to Amherst. Still one more away noncon series to define?

This is more like it. And I'm confident the Pioneers will do better against the bigger names.

Why would we want those pesky students and their enthusiasm in attendance at a series with our most important opponent?

Still could be going down to AFA to complete the home and home.

Guess that means Cornell is on the schedule.:) Perhaps the Cornell coach would like us to bring some of his favorite WCHA refs.

Could be that the remaining non-conference series will be against that perennial hockey titan University of Colorado at Denver Metropolitan Division of LoDo at Larimer Square Auraria Campus Where We Learn To SuperSize Your Fries State. Old Pio will be in attendance to drop the ceremonial first puck.

Provided they've still got the Two for Five Bucks deal on.

Alumni Still Skating

CHL Playoffs
Denver- Matt Glasser and Aaron MacKemzie leads series 2-1
Allen-Anthony Maiani-4 points in 2 playoff games

Not in the playoffs, but...
Drew Shore back with Florida after 6 weeks in San Antonio.

Well deserved.
Sam's selection had ro be based on the character traits and performance because he didn;'t have a big fan vote.
I think RPI's Brock Higgs probably won the fan vote.
It wouldn't surprise me if they diminish the fans' role next season.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

I know that Turk posted a tweet staying the Mathias Emilio Pettersen won't be going to Denver in 2018, and he certainly could be correct, but I have seen the commitment in about a half dozen places now, e.g. http://collegehockeyinc.com/stats/commitments.php.

There is an interesting thread about him on Hockey's Future started several years ago http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/showthread.php?t=1043703.

I look forward to Matthias teaming up with Baker Shore in Crimson and Gold.:)

Coach Lassonde gone, eh? Saw that coming 2 years ago. He WILL be a head coach somewhere, at some point. Wonder if he'll be with Steve Miller this coming year?? So.... regarding the home schedule release... interesting to see the traditional CC dates. Is Coors Field a dead issue? The NHL has not announced any dates for the Stadium Series yet, but they're saying Colorado is considered a host "city". If it were to happen, and DU was invited to participate, I guess DU could amend the schedule still; or, could this possible be an "extra" game not on the schedule?

I really didn't expect either Miller or Lassonde to stay past this year. It was good to have some continuity since Gwoz's departure was such a shock.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

In addition to Cornell, I just heard from a reasonably well connected person that Michigan State will be another away series to be added to the schedule.

Said person also pointed out that having the UND series during winter break allows the ticket office to sell seats otherwise reserved for students to Sioux fans (at a higher face value, plus the ticket premium) and make a good bit of cash. Makes business sense, but not emotional sense.

That's just great. Arrange to turn Magness into REA south. Swell. Is there nothing they won't do for a few bucks?
