Re: All things Denver XXVI: From Boonetown to Motown

Hey, a shot and a goal, while I appreciate the positive rep, I believe you pos repped the wrong person because your message makes no sense whatsoever with what it was tied to. Either that or you were just really toasted. :D (Just wanted to let you know so you can contact the intended party)

BTW, good luck with Nutini and Martin coming back. ND knows all too well how much it blows playing with a very short bench. My money's on you guys and Miami in the last game of the season.

Rough start for the men's lacrosse season. Dropped the opener at Syracuse, which was no surprise on Friday, but today, dropped a 3OT game to Jacksonville, giving the Dolphins thier first ever DI win. I'm sure everyone expected to finish this first trip 1-1. Not the start they were hoping for.

Worst loss in Denver's Division I lacrosse history. Yikes

Re: All things Denver XXVI: From Boonetown to Motown

DU--#1

Team USA--# 1 for the win over Canada.
Stastny with a lot of ice time as the center for the#1 line.

bump!! Did Stastny get any points? What was his +/- ? And, did you guys hear the announcer say "product of Denver" or something like that?

Re: All things Denver XXVI: From Boonetown to Motown

Seeing all those ads on Veids' german league uniform really makes me appreciate the simplicity of DU's 60th anniversary jerseys....

Yeah I told him he looked like a skating billboard!

Box Score

DU #1 in USCHO and USA Today Polls.

What an intense series this past weekend!! It's not too often you see a player lose is cool like Olsen did. I'm in the camp that believes he should get an extra game suspension due to the fact that when he went to break his stick there were numerous event staff that could have been injured.

Re: All things Denver XXVI: From Boonetown to Motown

Guess we find out about Nutini today. Hope he can play.

Gwoz said on the radio in Denver he is probably out this weekend with an ankle injury and Martin is questionable as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury.

I say let them sit this one out and get healed and ready for CC and beyond.

Re: All things Denver XXVI: From Boonetown to Motown

Chambers' Denver Post story suggested the Wrenn and Martin will return to the lineup this weekend, while Nutini won't.

Re: All things Denver XXVI: From Boonetown to Motown

Nominees for WCHA Player of the Week:
Offense --Anthony Maiani and Malcolm Gwillam from Tech
Defense--Cody Brookwell-- Keep it up Cody. He's been great on the last 4-6 games.
Rookie--Matt Donovan and Steven Seigo from Tech

We won the weekend, but they had some guys who made an impact.

Just for the sake of discussion, let's say the U.S. men's hockey team wins a medal [pick a medal, any medal] in Vancouver.

Denver will play home games on Friday March 5th, Friday March 12th, Saturday March 13th and Sunday March 14th [if necessary].

The Colorado Avs play at Phoenix on Thursday March 4th, would fly home that night and be in Denver Friday March 5th before playing at home on Saturday March 6th against Saint Louis. The Avs play at home on Thursday March 11th against Florida. The Avs would be in Denver on Friday March 12th before flying to Dallas on Saturday the 13th to play the Stars on Sunday the 14th.

Again, the Avs would be in Denver on both Friday March 5th and Friday March 12th. On the first date Denver plays CC and on the second date Denver plays its first round opponent in the WCHA playoffs.

Pick a date, either date. Here's a possible scenario. The teams skate on to the ice for pre-game introductions. The players' names are announced over the public address system. The national anthem is played and/or sung by that evening's performers. While the lights remain dimmed, an announcement is made directing all fans to turn their attention to the Northeast corner of the ice surface, to the doors through which the Zambonis enter and leave the ice surface. The doors swing open, and a figure wearing his U.S.A. men's Olympic hockey jersey, with his recently won gold/silver/bronze medal around his neck, skates on to the ice while the public address announcers asks the crowd to give a warm welcome to former Denver Pioneer star and recent gold/silver/bronze medal winner: Paul Stastny. As I say it's just one possible scenario.
