Re: ALL THINGS DENVER--XL--This one's for Old Pio

End of an era in Denver. After 40 years under former DU All American, National Champion and former NHLer Jim Wiste is closing the Campus Lounge. Here is the article from today's Denver Post.

http://www.denverpost.com/2016/09/20/campus-lounge-denver-closing/

While wandering down memory lane and the nights spent at the Campus, recalled an epic night with all the seniors in my sorority. Each of us named the drink and bought that round-- it was an eclectic mix for sure. We ran the bar out of cream, White Russians. And I think soft serve ice cream used in making a banana liqueur concoction. Surprisingly we went to class the next day and while in class in one of the Reed sisters ( the one that used to be the library), friend opened her purse to get a pen, but instead began pulling out pieces of fruit, plastic stirrers, straws, and sticky, stained, crumpled cocktail napkins--the remnants of the last round, Singapore Slings.

Discovered the edifice we all know as the Campus Lounge originally opened as the Bellaire Restaurant and did not become the iconic Campus until 1961. Wiste made some changes over the last 40 years, but according to one of the reviews I read, one element has not changed--there is still only one stall in the Women's restroom.

#9 Freshman Forward Tyson McClellan, 5th in a line of Californians wearing #9

No pressure on Tyson just because his predecessors were an All American, All American/Hobey Baker finalist, 1st round NHL draft choice, and Academic All American now at Harvard Law.

Re: ALL THINGS DENVER--XL--This one's for Old Pio

Only 4 NCHC teams in the Top Ien. ;);) Can't complain too much over ranking #3.

IMHO--Might put DU over Quinnipiac. 2016 Frozen Four UND and DU were the 2 best teams.
