Alaska @ Miami, Fri 3/11, Game #1

mmf

Nanook Nation
Getting a late start here.

In Goal:
Nanooks: Greenham (who else)
Miami: Reichard

Miami came out strong and controlled play for the first ten minutes or so, outshooting the Nooks by 6-0, partly aided by the only pp of the period. The Nooks were able to weather the Redhawks expected fast start.

The Nooks scored on their first "official" shot on goal, Molle from Kunyk, with about ten minutes left into the period.

The Nooks really settled down after the goal and play for the rest of the period was pretty even. The Nooks had some good chances but couldn't close the deal. SOGs ended up 9-5, 3 each for scoring opportunities.

End of first: 1-0 Nooks

Re: Alaska @ Miami, Fri 3/11, Game #1

Miami starts the 2nd strong, but the Nooks regroup and get a couple great chances but no dice. Nooks take their second penalty, Kunyk for high-sticking with about 15:30 left. Miami scores on the pp, Wideman.

Miamii takes a holding penalty, Cook for holding, at the ~11:30 mark. Nooks with good movement and a post, but can't cash in.

Lots of action in this game.
Good chances by both teams.

~3:00 left in the second
1-1

Re: Alaska @ Miami, Fri 3/11, Game #1

Greenham makes a big save with about 1:00 left in the 2nd. Both goalies playing well, but Greenham has really come up big a couple of times.

Meyers takes a nice one-timer with about :30 left but denied.

Hartman for Miami takes a holding penalty with :05 left in the 2nd. Nooks will start the 3rd with 1:55 of PP.

End of 2nd
1-1

Re: Alaska @ Miami, Fri 3/11, Game #1

Start of the 3rd.
Miami ends the 2nd with a 22-14 shot advantage. 7-6 advantage scoring chances.

Nooks pi** away the PP at the start of the 3rd with uninspired play. Nooks D breaks down and Miami takes a 2-1 lead with a goal from Tiesling.

The Nook's Sova called for tripping at the 14:15 mark. The Nooks do a good job killing the penalty.

Miami called for tripping with 11:20 left in 3rd. The Nooks do nothing on the PP. Not playing with much intensity in the 3rd.

Miele scores with 8:50 to to go.
3-1 Miami.
