Alaska Anchorage at Minnesota State Mankato ... Who Cares?

Re: Alaska Anchorage at Minnesota State Mankato ... Who Cares?

Yep very important game for us. just for the momentum to the guvs cup amd to the playoffs.

I watched the mavs/scon game and mavs looked dangerous but also gave up lot of oddman and weak on defense. I've noticed we dont' match up too well against these freewheeling teams. we lack a good fast transition game and scoring touch.

Go S E A W O L V E S

Here's some motivation for them: sweep UAA and if DU sweeps Tech (pretty bloody likely) they will officially avoid last place.

Better watch out Tech, we're gunning for your last place!

Craig Parkinson is out this weekend with a lower body injury, according to doyle woody, Hopefully its just this weekend.

Yup, and that is a big blow. He's a spark plug. Get healed up Craig, I'm sure you don't want to miss the Gov Cup series!

Go UAA! Get that 6th/5th place and come to St. Paul in March.

LEE GREEN! :D

Re: Alaska Anchorage at Minnesota State Mankato ... Who Cares?

USCHO Has Alaska ranked!

Contrary to what many might realize, there are 2 college hockey teams in the state of AK. "Alaska" would be referring to our slow whited brethrent to the north in Squarebanks. "Alaska" would be more commonly recognized as the UA_, however since their AD thinks they are the "flagship" campus, they decided to drop "Fairbanks" from their moniker a few seasons ago. Wasn't exactly a popular move in anybody's opinion (including those up north) Personally, while I don't think we're (UAA) is playing well enough to be ranked, UA_ is by far overrated to be ranked. Thats just one man's opinion but I call it like I see it.

I would think that if you're going to call someone "slow-witted" you'd want to spell it correctly.

Ever since that name change, they have not beat UAA, in Hockey or Basketball.

Where the heck is Bryce?

Re: Alaska Anchorage at Minnesota State Mankato ... Who Cares?

ur guess is as good as mine, but i'm not worried. Olthuis can come through if the dmen can give him help. Just have a lil faith

I know that Jonnie O can come up big, I'm more concerned about the slight (or perceived slight) to Bryce. My guess is he won't be back next year, and if that is the case the coaching staff had better be working the arses off recruiting another top goalie.

Re: Alaska Anchorage at Minnesota State Mankato ... Who Cares?

Nice to get a win, Mavericks! Moullierat played a great game, Harrison set a school record, even Zuck looked reasonably sharp with his physical play.

Bring your brooms tonite!

Ole.

Congrats to the Mavs. It came down to goaltending. Cook was outstanding, and Jonnie O gave up too many SOFT goals. We need a goalie. We need a power play coach. Better pull it together and win the Gov Cup next weekend Wolves. How badly do you want it?

Re: Alaska Anchorage at Minnesota State Mankato ... Who Cares?

Cook was average. Olthuis was well below average. Clark was a moron that tried to pick a fight in the handshake line like a midget Joe Finley. You'd think four years at Anchorage would have molded him into a better loser.

Cool to get a sweep, but embarrassing to still be behind a team that awful in the standings.
