Against the rules are just being a homer ?

Re: Against the rules are just being a homer ?

Yeah, you're right, but that was an error of omission not commission as was the case with the PA guy and his collaborators. But the latter never got bandied about because no one does the "cover up" quite as well as Norwich. Consider the drug dealing defenseman and the hockey house brawls with police featuring Keith Aucoin's younger brother. Never discussed by USCHO? Is that drug dealer still in prison?

Points in fact, not a defenseman, and no prison, and while I can condemn the error in judgement with what happened, I consider him, and wife, to be friends still.

(and I think I understand why this discussion is going on)

I have no first hand knowledge, but I heard it was someone else that put him up to it. It was alleged to have been an honest mistake, but I don't see how it could have been. It wasn't very classy and hardly hilarious. I was told at the time that it was fortunate that the Midd starters knew enough not to go out when the incorrect names were introduced because they could have been assessed a protocol penalty.

Couldn't have gotten a protocol penalty unless Middlebury let Norwich write down their line-up on the score sheet, which I tend to doubt...But is it classless??? without a doubt...

It was unfortunate it happened, but you can't tell me that if that story made it into the national headlines, people wouldn't be laughing about it.

I can tell you that I wouldn't have been laughing about it.

It's unoriginal, and it's not particularly humorous. Just dumb.

And it's just one of the reasons that guy doesn't announce any more...(at least at Norwich).

Re: Against the rules are just being a homer ?

I can tell you first hand, no one put him up to it. To this day he is very upset with himselve over the mistake. At least we admit out mistake and not call it a "play on words".:D:D:D

Yeah, at the time, I imagined the players participating in the biggest game of their lives at the time and hoping to have their names and hometowns introduced in front of a full house. Instead, someone decided to take that away from them and announce them as the women's teams starters. Crazy?

Okay, I'll admit that whoever ordered the banner forgot to spell check it as long as you admit that your PA guy doesn't know the difference between a man and women. You can also admit that you forgot to spell check your comment. :D:D:D
