Re: A tragic loss
Thanks for sharing that analogy. Know from first hand experience it is different for everyone. We experienced the loss of one of our own children a few years ago. This stays with you forever. My spouse deals with it in much different ways than myself. Some days are still very emotional, even years later, and events like those for the Turgeon's and the Richardson's hit the memory lane for us every time out.
God speed to both the Turgeon's and the Richardson's.
P.S...We never let our children travel distances over one hour by themselves in a car. While that may seem over protective to some, it is our way of staying comfortable with the risk factors.
A friend, who lost her daughter last year, told me it is like having a pebble in your shoe for the rest of your life; sometimes it is right under your foot causing constant pain, and then other times it moves to the side, you always feel it and it never goes away. You learn to live life again, but that pebble is always there, shifting moment to moment. The loss of a child has to be the most unbearable of all of life's sorrows.
