Great to hear! ANd thank you
Further details, as promised: he's not out of bed doing jumping jacks yet, but he is able to acknowledge others in the room, as well as answer yes or no questions. He's still got a long way to go, but this is progress!

And from the Thank You, Lord department: I run a small bakery out of the house, focusing on cookies and brittle (peanut, cashew, bacon), as well as caramels. Well, without a job, I can't afford supplies such as parchment paper. Someone ordered a couple things from me this weekend, and on top of paying what he owed me, he handed me a $50 and told me to get what I needed. On top of that, a fellow volunteer from Faithful to Felines cat shelter is giving me some of her gently used baking equipment.

:)

And I spoke with him on the phone today. He's doing okay, but he's still stuck with a feeding tube and catheter.
Awesome!

And another thank you post here too- My Mum's cat is recovering. She is not the praying type. In fact she struggles with the whole concept of religion. Called me yesterday to thank me for all the prayers and to let me know the cat is OK. :)

Re: A Thread for prayers, good vibes and what have you

Nick DeFelice (a little kid who was sick) was adopted by the River Hawk hockey team this past season through Team IMPACT and was an influential member of the program, helping UMass Lowell to its best season in years.

For his courage, energy and support of the team, Nick took home the 2012 Marc Connolly Award, given annually to a non-player who made a significant positive impact on the UMass Lowell hockey program as voted by the players, at this year's banquet.

Nick just passed away. At the banquet he looked pretty good. It doesn't seem possible this could happen so soon. Heartbreaking. Prayers for his family and for the team would be appreciated.

Sad. Prayers will be sent.

Re: A Thread for prayers, good vibes and what have you

For those of you who keep prayer lists I have a request I'd like to make. At present there are too many places in Colorado battling uncontrolled fires. State and national manpower is being stretched to the limit. The men and women fighting the various fires are exhausted. The cost of trying to control and extinguish these fires is astronomical. High winds, low to no humidity coupled with high temepratures and dry conditions statewide--owing to little snowpack this winter resulting in dry conditions throughout the state--have combined to produce the worst fire season in the many years I have lived in Colorado. Countless homes have been torched and many more will meet similar ends before the fires are controlled. Our state needs abundant rainfall and soon, if not sooner. Colorado continues to be in the midst of its third week of fighting catastrophic fires. Please pray for rain to help all involved in combatting the blazes. Thanks.

Done.

Another note of thanks: My stepdad finally understands that $20 buys a lot of groceries. And this helps, because I'm usually just a few ingredients short of preparing a meal.

Just talked to my stepmom: my biological father will be medically transported back to Las Vegas either Monday or Tuesday. He still can't walk or hold a phone, but he's getting stronger every day! Praise the Lord!

:( that is plain awful. Prayers for all.

And in thanksgiving- been majorly stressed at work, like considering a career change, stressed. Was praying like mad for a break. Last week was probably the slowest 3 days I worked in a long time. I caught up on all sorts of stuff and I actually went home and didn't bring work this past Tuesday. First time in months I didn't feel guilty relaxing and reading a book :D

Didn't get the second interview. But all is not lost; I have an interview for a bus driver position coming up on Monday, Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services wants to call me in for an interview, and I'm waiting to hear back from Wal-Mart after I interviewed with them last Tuesday.

Re: A Thread for prayers, good vibes and what have you

My 2 daughters left this morning on a 1600 mile drive to Texas. My oldest is moving down there to start her athletic training career and little sis is helping with the driving and then flying home at the end of the week.

We would all be grateful for prayers and good thoughts for a safe journey.

Done.

Would appreciate prayers for one of the families I know. They are having hard time reaching out, worrying about being judged. Going through a really rough patch with their eldest kid doing the usual scary kid stuff. Really tough for them right now.

Just talked to my stepmom; my biological father is now in a Las Vegas nursing home recovering. He still can't walk, but he's moving a little bit more every day.

Re: A Thread for prayers, good vibes and what have you

My mom is going to surgery tomorrow (strictly, later today) to clear an intestinal blockage after non-surgical attempts failed. Positive thoughts appreciated.
