Re: A Thread for prayers, good vibes and what have you

Prayers for my Mum who is currently in surgery after shattering her ankle last night. Prayers for me to. I am having a really hard time getting over how angry I am that she did it because she couldn't be bothered to clean up the floor. I have been telling her how worried I am this would happen because she is not steady. Let us say I was not well rec'd.

tpfd - My sincerest condolences. Our thoughts are with you now and during your time of need.

Re: A Thread for prayers, good vibes and what have you

pro - so sorry for your loss. I couldn't even begin to imagine.

Just wanted to share and offer up prayers of thanksgiving for my new job!
I've been out of work since January, wasn't able to collect UI, so this is quite the blessing. However, being out of work has been a bit of blessing in itself. I was able to do things and go places that I wouldn't have been able to do if I had been working, but I'm ready to be back to work and contributing to the household again.

Props to you, melmac. I've been in your situation. I was doing a bunch of part-time jobs (Santa, working at a bakery, the Census, and getting hours at a radio station where I do the news and board op for Syracuse sports games.) I finally got my break in January where I work at the sports desk of a newspaper. SLU and Clarkson fans probably know which one I refer to. :D It's a great feeling to contribute to the household.

Anyways, I have good news on my daughter's situation. My fiance's ex did file for custody due to the medication issue. The judge told him to go to the next appointment and the doctor laid the law down on him. My daughter's lawyer (in New York, the child has a lawyer as well) also told him flat out that the meds are working. He decided to back off and is actually letting us have Hailey every third weekend of the month so she can go to the birthday parties of the kids in her class that she was missing because she had to go to her father's.

She has been doing really well at school and the last report card showed it. She likes going to school now and wants to show me all her projects. Thanks for all of the kind words, advice and prayers you have given me. You don't know how much it means to my family and me.

This is so awesome. So nice to hear when the system works and koudos to you both as parents. It takes a lot of work and can be incredibly painful but- it is life changing for the child and so worth it! :D

It ain't easy but it's worth it. Congratulations.

Re: A Thread for prayers, good vibes and what have you

Talked to mom and dad today. Dad had am MRI a while back and after a mixup on who the films and reports he recently was told that a portion of the brain tumor he had removed last year is acutally still there. Previous MRIs did not see it so we dont know what the story is there (had been done at different hospitals so maybe that had something to do with it). We are waiting for the neurologist to get the films and reports so he can finally see them (went to family doc instead of neurologist) and then we will find out more. From what I understand about 1/3 of the tumor is still there and it does appear to the be original benign tumor and not a new one.

Re: A Thread for prayers, good vibes and what have you

We sang this song in Chruch yesterday and I thought of this thread....What A Friend We Have In Jesus

1. What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer.

2. Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer.

3. Are we weak and heavy laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In his arms he'll take and shield thee;
thou wilt find a solace there.
