Tonight's 14th straight loss will set a program record, according to HatTrick. Even the 99-00 team only had two 13-game losing streaks.

The longest losing streak for Michigan Tech in the last 13 seasons is 13 games. It could be longer, but that is as far as USCHO goes back. They lost 13 in a row twice in 1999-00, and then the current streak. We are one period away from the longest losing streak in this era of Tech hockey, and possibly ever.

UAA had a really bad season a few years ago. I think they might hold the record for longest losing streak.

20 minutes to relief...

By the way, this is a great SHUTOUT Lee is getting. I wish our goalies could manage a SHUTOUT.

In 2002-03, UAA had a losing streak of 16 games to end the season. They also went winless in 35 game straght games, winning their first game, and not putting on in the W column the rest of the season.

How long did these streaks continue into the next season?

In other news, Minnesota is losing 8-0 to the U-18s

That was the second of John Hill's three seasons. It ended with a 3-2 win over Fairbanks to start the following season.

michigantechhuskies.com has statistics going back to 1950-1951 season

i just started looking....the 96-97 team had a 19 game winless streak, going 0-16-3, 5 losses, a tie, then 7 losses, then a tie, then 2 losses, then a tie, then 2 more losses

i'm still looking farther back

That is pretty bad as well, but at least they were able to break up the losing streak with ties before things became double digits. I am not going to bother looking, but they might have led for more than zero seconds in any 11 game stretch in that streak. I could be wrong though.

Edit: With tonight's loss, we have had winless streaks of 13, 15, and 15 in the last three years. And always about the same time on the calendar.

Well, this game is over and I have things to attend to for a bit. I'm out.

Re: A Catastrophic Success --- MTU @ St. Cloud, Jan. 7/8, 2011

there's a 19 game undefeated streak in 70-71, oh those must've been the days

also, a 20 game WIN streak (not undefeated, actual win streak), in 61-62, ****....that would've been awesome to see

if you go all the way back to the 51-52 season when we were in the MCHL, we had a 16 game losing streak, they were 2-18-0 for the season, their only 2 wins coming out of conference, 2 losses, then 2 wins, and then lost every game the rest of the season, they won the first game of the next season so it stops there...

the MCHL back then was real UofM, Michigan State, UND, fake UofM, CC, and Denver
