36th Annual Banished Words List

Proud2baLaker

Master of Science
Lake Superior State University has released their annual Banished Words List. They almost need to call it the banished word and phrase list though since there are more and more phrases showing up. Some good ones on there this year including "viral", "epic" and others.

Re: 36th Annual Banished Words List

I would like to add, and mine has more to do with a grammatical thing. The use of "loose" vs. "lose." E.G. "Clarkson will lose this game to RPI." vs. "Clarkson's head coach has a screw loose." One means that something's not tight, and the other means that a game, an object, is never to be found again.

Re: 36th Annual Banished Words List

I'm surprised "tweeting" didn't make the list along with "Facebooking" and "Google."

Facebook/Google did make it.

FACEBOOK/GOOGLE as verbs
"Facebook is a great, addicting website. Google is a great search engine. However, their use as verbs causes some deep problems. As bad as they are, the trend can only get worse, i.e. 'I'm going to Twitter a few people, then Yahoo the movie listings and maybe Amazon a book or two." Jordan of Waterloo, Ont.

well, you can see that Sarah once again has taken up rental space in peoples heads. Once she stops wasting bat habitats in such a manner then you'll see them return to the important stuff.
