Re: 2nd Term Part VIII - The Thin Red Line

Who's the ********?

Brat or the morons who voted for him?

I happened to have that on this morning when Todd was interviewing him and it's clear he's in way over his head.

I'm not sad to see Cantor go, but these tea-baggers are a bit scary.

Brat's the asssclown. What Econ professor doesn't understand the minimum wage enough to have a position on it?

Re: 2nd Term Part VIII - The Thin Red Line

Does anyone know if Anderson Cooper and Cantor are friends? He was practically in tears last night announcing Cantor's defeat (right before switching over to a scintilating "OJ, 20 Years Later" documentary.

Do you really think he doesn't have a position on it?

More likely he doesn't want to make any public comments till he gets his marching orders.

And people vote for that sort of blatant incompetence and pandering why?

Re: 2nd Term Part VIII - The Thin Red Line

They couldnt nail him for Whitewater or any of the other charges that the GOP had investigated so they played gotcha with his getting a BJ in office.

All while Newt was busy shagging the staffer who became Wife #3, still married to Wife #2 of course. But he was a Republican and didn't lie while under oath, so it was totally OK, not hypocritical, and didn't go against his Christian beliefs or anything.

This whole 'tu quoque' thing is actually a lot of fun. :)

The more of them the GOP runs the better. We need this gay stuff stamped out before we all go to hell.

Want a laugh?

Brat who crushed Cantor last night was asked his position on the minimum wage. He doesn't have one. He's a college Econ professor.

What an ********.

That's actually an incredibly stupid response. Anyone who's watched enough interviews with political candidates should know that when you're hit with a question you can't or don't want to address yet, a standard draft response would be, "I am working with my team to conduct further research into the possibility of making an adjustment the minimum wage, and will address that further in the coming weeks." That is how you dodge like a pro, and no one watching at home would bat an eyelash at that. Instead, he might as well have drooled on himself with "Umm....I don't have a well-crafted response".

What an ********.

I bet he has a well crafted response on gay marriage though.

Laser-like focus on job, y'all!

Of course he does. But, minimum wage no. After all a Phd in Economics can't be expected to know anything about the minimum wage but he sure as **** knows how to make the gay go away.

Cantor's defeat

Regarding Eric Cantor getting primaried: Is this a sign that voters are finally going to get serious about cleaning house and starting fresh, or some fluke based on personalities? (too lazy to read political analysis)
I would be very happy if we could throw all the bums out along with Obamacare etc. and hire a competent government.

Unfortunately the guy that won the primary is neither competent, nor fresh.

I would say a personality thing. He seemed to have Dick Lugar's problem which is the perception that he didn't spend much time in his home district. At least in Lugar's case his home state was thousands of miles away. Not sure why Cantor couldn't spend more time with his constituents in a state that borders the capital. Sounds like the ol' inertia/hubris/overconfidence mistake to me.

Re: 2nd Term Part VIII - The Thin Red Line

On the bright side, Cantor's internal polling shows he is ahead on Dancing with the Stars.

I don't know, but I could have sworn we all learned the lesson recently not be believe GOP commissioned polls.....trying to think of when this has come up before. ;)

Is he Muslim?

Not quite. Close though. He does quote the Old Testament of the Bible...

Brat's views on climate change: "Over time, rich countries solve their problems." http://www.salon.com/2014/06/11/david_brat_rich_countries_dont_have_to_worry_about_climate_change/

Re: 2nd Term Part VIII - The Thin Red Line

Big ups to the state of Oklahoma for giving us a Tea Party candidate who thinks gay people should be stoned to death. THAT is how you appeal to moderate voters!

What's worse is that because he "sides with libertarians" on others, people will think that's what the libertarians stand for. Perhaps my generation is speaking up and breaking the party line boundaries.

Re: 2nd Term Part VIII - The Thin Red Line

And the Republicans filibustered the "refinance student loan debt" bill today. Good job, Mitch. You ****tard.
