Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

Oh, man I hope the 24 hour news machine runs this into the ground. So much fun.

They won't. Itch is a fascist, and that's what the government media complex supports. You're only going to find this on the alternative sources.

Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

MSNBC: Runs story 24/7
CNN: Doesn't run it; not a lost plane
Fox: Runs story 24/7, changing name from McConnell to Clinton

Apparently this happened in August and there wasn't a peep out of any news sources until now.

Sure, a guy gets busted as a pedophile and the fact that Bill Clinton visited him once a long time ago is breaking news, but this isn't even a story - just a coincidence.

Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

Barack Obama was praised as the "best president ever" to US troops. And I know it's true because it was on Fox News!

Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

If anyone missed Jon Stewart taking Rudy Guiliani out to the woodshed last night on the Daily Show I highly recommend it.

That was awesome! Showing his inaugural where he talked about changing NY and to ignore the people who fear change was a great touch :)

Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

This week in Republicans.

Heard this this morning on Morning Joe.

And what is this Congress doing? You know, The United States Senate, the Republicans are now in charge, and what have they spent their time on?

First they wanted to spend weeks passing a pipeline that principally benefit some foreign oil company, and now they want to spend a month on shutting down Homeland Security at a time when we face terrorist threats.

Hard to pick a favorite part, but I did like Rudy's quote: Obama didn't live through 9/11 - I did.
Not only was President Obama born in Kenya, he was apparently only six years old when he was elected president.

Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

The President vetoed Keystone today.

Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

How many construction jobs? Even the $timulu$ did not guarantee permanent jobs.

We don't need a stimulus right now. We need a minimum wage, wage equality, and real middle class tax reform. Instead we're passing a pipeline for a foreign company and defunding Homeland Security so we can deport people.

A price floor on labour destroys any form of bridge between "classes" by fortifying the barrier to entry. Wage equality is exactly what caused the PPACA (albeit indirectly), thanks a lot FDR, you communist. Can't wait to read what idea Scooby has on tax reform, although I'm sure it will actually hurt those he's targeting to protect. As for the pipeline, it doesn't start in Canada and end in Mexico, so there is still the US involved. And what's so bad about deporting people that came into the country illegally? This is why we have borders, just like how you have locks on your doors and, if you have land, a fence or posted signs around your yard.

Uh, huh. Thanks for no knowledge on the issues.

1. Minimum wage increases have never caused the dire effects that the right is scaring everyone with. Same scare tactic they use with ISIS.
2. Tax reform for the middle class for me would involve fixing the payroll tax. Which currently is the most regressive tax we have.
3. The pipeline is for Canada. Canadian tar sand oil down to the gulf for shipping to other foreign states. Why doesn't Canada build their own **** pipeline and ship it out of Vancouver?
4. Again NO ONE on the GOP side wants to fix the problem of the people who are already here. Personally I'm all for the current GOP Congress passing a round em up and ship them out bill. They won't. Cause they're *******.

This would be a great point except (1) the developed countries with the strongest minimum wage laws also have the most social mobility, and (2) FDR's reforms launched the US on the greatest period of prosperity and the development of the largest and most prosperous middle class the world has ever known.

So other than being completely wrong, you're right.

Considering you see NWO conspiracies under every bed, I'm amazed you don't recognize an actual one when it happens. The pipeline is at best just another giveaway to the multi-nat elites. The US gets nothing from it but potential environmental damage. The only people who get a windfall are the plutocrats who run the energy sector. As I've said before -- you want to see the acid test for who supports the pipeline for real reasons of national energy self-sufficiency? Nationalize the energy sector. After all, it's terribly important to our national security.

I am baffled by how in one breath you correctly identify the crony capitalists as a huge threat and in the next breath spit out talking points invented by those very same crony capitalists to fool people into disassembling the decades worth of protections that were built precisely to keep them from enslaving the rest of us.

You are fighting EXACTLY the wrong people.

1. Then why have many small businesses in Seattle shut down or severely limited labour opportunities?
2. That only affects those that are considered salaried. It won't affect those you're trying to target, because they are considered self employed.
3. Still have to refine it. Or did you think some magic genie in the pipe would transform the stuff into the necessary products?
4. Although I disagree with the politics, one quote from The American President sticks out in my mind: "I was too busy trying to keep my job that I forgot to do my job." It's called pandering for the Hispanic vote and attempting to not seem raaaaa-cist.
