First period scoring:
1. SCSU -- Jordy Christian 1 (unassisted) 2:29. Two Union defensemen lost possession of the puck at their own blue line. Christian recovered it in the left circle and whipped a hard-angle shot that slowly squeezed under the pads of goalie Corey Milan.
2. U -- Brian Yanovitch 2 (Wayne Simpson, John Simpson) 4:42. The Dutchmen broke out of their own zone for a 3-on-2. John Simpson crossed the Huskies' blue line, then dished to Wayne Simpson in the right circle. As the defense and goalie Mike Lee shifted over to play him, he passed across to Yanovitch in the left circle for a one-timer into an open net.
3. SCSU -- Tony Mosey 1 (Garrett Roe, Garrett Raboin) 9:04 (pp). Raboin passed from the blue line to Roe in the left circle. Roe passed up a shot to hit Mosey at the right faceoff dot. Mosey one-timed a shot inside the right post.
4. SCSU -- Ryan Lasch 1 (Craig Gaudet, Drew LeBlanc) 18:02. Lasch curled off the left half wall and left the puck for Gaudet, who fired a shot from the point. Lasch tried to tip it in as he crossed in front of Milan, then got the rebound at the right post and tapped it in.
