P.S. The author has an interesting take on the Public vs Private school dichotomy within the SUNYAC.
The SUNYAC asked for this. I assume the schools were consulted before the "Privates" were invited. They won't have any argument if (when?) that comes to fruition. It'll drive the fans nuts, but remember - our schools asked for it.

Yeah he originally stated neither the mens or women's lec gets an auto bid turns out the mens do get the auto bid. The women's league is only 7 teams maybe they don't have 4 core members on that side? The public vs private argument is a little bs cause he doesn't even mention it in the uchc portion of the article and that's 2 sunys vs 7 private schools. Do any of us really think Geneseo is gonna struggle?

Coaches didn't ask for this! All agreed adding Hobart and Skidmore would put their programs at a huge disadvantage. This decision was made by poorly educated Presidents and spineless AD's.

I actually played "club" hockey at Geneseo 50 years ago prior to them fielding an NCAA team. In fact, I don't recall any seating in the arena.

Just my semi-informed opinion ... Geneseo may be funded as a public institution, but from student recruitment to admission and academic standards, has historically been run at a different level. They won't struggle, but will compete ... perennially. The Geneseo, Geneva, Utica triumvirate may dominate for awhile, which isn't great news for my local team in Elmira :(
