24-25 Polls

Timothy A

Let's go RED!
The USCHO didn't feel the need to do another poll this week even though games were played, but USA hockey did one. I think it's accurate. I thought maybe MN would garner a couple first place votes.

Those deservedly went to the other U of M branch. Mostly, at the risk of offending any tOSU fans who haven't abandoned the forum, I think the title this year is entirely UW's to win or lose.

What? Minnesota, Ohio State, Wisconsin, St. Cloud State in the WCHA? No NCHC teams in the USA poll? Whoever done this poll did they know anything about college hockey?
How could it be accurate?

You rarely see a poll without someone's personal bias interjected.
BTW siouxfan, when is North Dakota going to sue the NCAA to get their name back? With the NCAA reeling from all the lawsuits the time to strike is now!

. Maybe they weren't impressed with Wisconsin's blowout victories? Season is too young to mean much in my opinion.

I don't have a problem with Wisconsin not getting all the first place votes. How can you vote for them to have it first place vote when the team that swept them is ranked above them and they didn't get that vote. UMD swept them, they should get that vote.

Maybe Muzzy recruited a pollster from the portal who'll vote for them every time regardless? Only an insider would know for sure. But I get what you are saying it's not logical if you are fully informed about each team.

The polls are hard to do, I get that. All the Voters do is look at box scores. Some of them may see a few games a week, but there's no sportcenter to watch to at least se some highlights. What they cannot do is defy logic and this one clearly does. Maybe Seirra is a voter.

Maybe I missed something somewhere on this forum, but why aren't pairwise rankings being updated? My apologies if I did. At first, I thought it might be because some of the teams haven't started play yet, but then I noticed that the men's pairwise has been updated even though all teams haven't started play.

I thought Clarkson would get dumped further down after the shocking result last weekend.

I've been lazy on getting my calculator updated for the new season but if USCHO has been slacking again I'll try to get it up and running this weekend

That would be much appreciated; thanks for all of your efforts on this front!

Rough week for ranked teams with like 6 out of the top 10 not sweeping their series. You don't see that every week.
