2026 Elections: To the Midterms and Beyond!

The latest anti-AES attack ad that sounds more like an endorsement:

How do we know El Sayed is dangerous? He said so in his own words:

"Michigan needs a Senator focused on the middle class, not the Middle East."

How chilling.

I should've prefaced it by saying that the ad leads in by attempting to criticize him for allegedly accepting donations from Middle Eastern and Arab organizations. The usual "He's a terrorist in sheep's clothing" dogwhistle.

Vance is riffing off Dump's continual focus on male physique, which is a deliberate strategy Dump himself has talked about. (1) It draws attention. It's an easy way to generate media attention, on par with his other "say something outrageous and win the news cycle" strategy which, let's face it, has worked -- they always fall for it. (2) It sexualizes and masculinizes his chosen candidates, while his statements about political opponents always feminizes them. That is Dump's whole fucked up school bully routine that mixes homophobia and misogyny.

Vance is trying to ride his coattails of grossness, but Dump has that bizarre charisma with his low intellect drones whereas Vance comes across to everybody as the guy at the gathering who smells funny and who you keep your wife and kids and pets and furniture away from.
